I know it’s custom to wear some cute, white dress and sandals..but what about when it’s cold outside? I know you can wear tights but what color? White seems weird.
Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for what to wear fo a bridal shower in cold weather. I am having two of them so I need to get on it. One is at my fiance’s family house and probably less formal. My family is having mine in a nice restaurant in Chicago that is catered with champagne punch. So, I will probably dress up more for that one. Right?

I have never attended a shower where the bride wore white. That’s news to me since I came to WB.
My showers were in Dec. and Jan. I wore a dress with black tights.

I’m having the same problem! I can’t find anything white that doesn’t look summery.
@littlemisst08: I’ve only been to showers where the bride wore white. Hmm. Interesting.

I also don’t recall many brides wearing white at the showers I’ve attended. Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful!

I had my bridal shower in October last year. I wore a plaid pencil skirt, a mustard color cardigan, rust colored tights and flats.
If you want to do white, I would do winter ivory shades paired with gold or brown to keep it warm feeling for the season.

I wore jeans and a t-shirt to one, and a nicer shirt wih jeans to the other two. I didn’t even know you were supposed to dress up for bridal showers.

What about a nice silver or pewter dress?

@kate22ca: I’m wearing this amazing winter white crepe suit. It’s more me than dresses anyways, and I’m pairing it with a black peplum top and these killer ruby Stuart Weitzman heels I have.
Screw tradition, wear what you want!

What about a cute long, flowy skirt and a nice sweater? Maybe something like this (but without the thigh-high split obvs!)?

Mine will be in January and I got a white knee length dress and plan to wear a yellow cardigan, grey tights, pink flats and a pink necklace because those are our wedding colors and I already own those things haha I figured that way I have white but I have a lot of color on it

@kate22ca: I think a long sleeved dress that goes just above the knee and boots (not cowboy boots) look really nice! You can wear tights too if it’s really cold!
