sorry about the spelling mistakes typing on a tablet stink!
yellow is a really pretty color for weddings! how bright of a yellow did you choose?
On some people it’s such a beautiful color. Personally, I look absolutely terrible in yellow, but if a bride wanted to put me in a yellow bridesmaid dress, I’d do it for her.
It’s not the easiest color to wear but it’s not horrible. I happen to look horrible in it.
Yellow is one of my favorite colors, if not my absolute favorite. That being said I look terrible (Awful!!!) in yellow thanks to my skin tone. It is not a color that everyone can pull off sadly.
What are other colors within your decor? Perhaps one of those might be more appealing to your BMs?
Just a side note my colors are champagne and pink. While I wanted the girls to wear champagne colored dresses I realized that it, like yellow, is a hard color to pull off. I opted for pink to appease the girls and in the end we are all happier for it.
Sorry, I’m not a fan of yellow either. I dont own a single yellow piece of clothing. It’s pretty, but I’d probably at least ask if you could change the color too.

I personally hate the color yellow but if that was the color my sister chose for a bridesmaid dress, I would wear it.
Ha, my sister asked if I could change my light blue into a turquoise to match her eyes better :). I’d say stick with it and just try to choose a moderately priced dress since you know she won’t ever wear it again.
Yellow is hard to wear for some. I would suggest being concious of how it looks on your maids when shopping and try multiple shades to see what compliments them.
I love the color, and thankfully am able to rock it…BUT, I know that some folks look not-so-good in it. That said, i would NEVER tell a bride that I won’t wear the color she chose for her wedding. You suck it up, you wear the ugly dress, you party with your friend, then you can go home and burn it.
Long time lurker coming out of the woodwork to say that I think yellow is a lovely colour for a wedding, and I’m thinking of having it as mine but I am trying to be careful to choose a yellow that suits the skin tones of my bridesmaids because it can be difficult colour to pull off.
Is it possible to find a shade of yellow that suits them both? I dont think you should change your whole idea to suit them, but its best to compromise and try to keep everyone happy. There are lots of shades of yellow to choose from so there must be one they’ll wear. Best of luck!
Persoanlly I would NEVER ask a bride to change her colors or anything about her wedding. If it was my sister I may talk to her about it though, because she is my sister!
That being said here are some photo’s of different colors of yellow to give you an idea of what it looks like in a wedding.
(This is my fave color out of the yellows I found.)
(I also love the color of these long gowns below & the short dresses above!)
I myself like the pale yellows more than the bright yellows. Actually I love the pale yellows in these photos for sure!
