scissorgirl :  I saw your post was about 8 months old but wasn’t sure if you had already found your groom/groomsmen attire…

Beware of Snapsuits!  We are in the process of working with them and it is my biggest regret of this entire wedding planning process.  We had decided to use them because we thought it would be better than renting.. the groomsmen would get custom fitting suits they got to keep.  Except, the suits do not fit.

My fiance’s suit came – the jacket had 3 buttons, not two, like we had requested and the pants were baggy all over and too long for him.  They are in the process of making him a new suit but I am not confident it will be any better.

After being assured that the first suit was a fluke, we placed an order for 8 more navy suits – so far 6 have been delivered and all but 1 have had issues. The best man’s suit had purple stitching on the lapel, we didn’t ask for.  His jacket has to be remade.  Both my father and his father’s suit pants are too big in the waist but too small everywhere else.  My uncle’s suit pants are so short you can see his socks.

After all of these issues, I requested that they refund our party so we can order elsewhere, however, we’ve gotten no response.  My wedding is in 45 days…

Please, do yourself a favor and save the stress.  Order from a more established rental company or pay more for a local tailor.

All our RSVPs are in just 10 days after the RSVP date – I think that’s pretty good going!!

There’s like next to nothing left to do. FI picked out his suit last weekend, finally, totally changed his mind about color once he actually got in the store. 😤 He’s lucky it works with everything. I ordered my red shoes yesterday (love, love, love the shoes), dress alterations are done so picking it up in the morning, figured out how I want my hair, did the seating chart which may need a couple tweaks once RSVP’s are in and we have our tasting later this afternoon. 😄 This journey is nearly over, thank goodness.

heavenlyflower :   planningandprepping :  Sounds like you guys are on track!!

We finalized our music plan recently.

FI + GM are going to get their suits sometime. Not sure when lol.

Dress is with the seamstress, should have a fitting by Aug 20 she said.

We’ve gotten 20% of RSVPs back lol. Not a lot. But our deadline is Sept 1, so still time.

I dont have shoes actually. I should go looking for those this weekend lol.

I reminded FI about favours and he started that yesterday.

We have to order all of our drinkware ahead of time, so its sitting in our amazon account waiting until we’re ready.

We head out in 3 weeks to meet the officiant and get the marriage license (!!). We will also meet again with our DOC and our decor person. AND we will need to decide which red wine(s) to serve at the wedding. Taste test time!!

Not even close to a seating chart lol.

Also need a shot list from both families of who they want pics of.

We also need to certify FIs mom to be our ‘host’ for our liquor license. Such BS.

And we are trying to book our mini moon too 🙁 Had an emergency in June that cost us $3500, so that was basically our mini moon money 😛 FI knows how much I was looking forward to it, so hopefully we can still make it work.

Our RSVPs are coming in slowly but surely.  The RSVP date is 9/2 so plenty of time still to go.  I am making some changes to the floral and catering contracts.  I had my first fitting on 7/31.  My next fitting is 8/18. Hair trial is 8/12.  Still have to book my makeup trial but it would be a follow up to the one I had earlier when I first booked.  Waiting on my accessories (shoes / jewelry) to come in at the salon.  Oh and the all important marriage license still needs to be obtained.  Will do that in early September.  Everything else is pretty much set until final numbers are in for the guest count. Thereafter, it will be getting the menus and programs done, favors, and then just waiting to say “I Do”.

My rsvp date for out 9/23 wedding is 8/19, and I think we’ve gotten about half back. Last to do is start printing out ceremony programs, escort cards, and do payments to finish up. It’s getting so soon!

I have my 2nd dress fitting and hair and make-up trial on Friday this week and I’m also going shopping with my mom and sister-in-law to get the flower girl/ring bearer outfits for my nieces and nephews. My RSVP deadline is due 9/1 and I have about 1/4 of the RSVP’s in.

Today I e-mailed our vendors to schedule meetings to finalize everything.

We are having our last premarital counseling session on 8/20 and we’re planning to pick up our marriage license on 9/1.

Still need to purchase gifts for our parents, but we know what we are getting them.

Still need to schedule dance lessons, but I found a good Groupon deal today that I think we will do.

My mom is purchasing our favors today (I didn’t want them, but she insisted on them) and we are planning to put these together and finish up the DIY projects on 8/26. I still need to get a few decor items too.

I also need to finalize a day-of schedule, make final payments, and figure out the plan for the groomsmen dinner that FI’s parents are planning. And there’s probably a million other small things I need to do that I’m forgetting.

This is the first time since I’ve been engaged that I’m feeling the stress of wedding planning, and I’m honestly just ready to be done with it!

I’m ready to get this day over with. Our RSVP deadline is 8/26, we have 46% responses but only two of those individuals are from FI side and they just came in yesterday. I know its early I just have a feeling follow up will be needed for people from his list and he’s never going to get it done so that’ll be my headache. Like dealing with his mother who decided to call me asking if extra guests could be put on the list that “he should have invited” after he’d already told her no. Nice try lady but I won’t be going behind my future husbands back. Hoping for the best, right now the only thing exciting me is the thought of being married but not the actual wedding and the honeymoon.

zwimmerz :  We seriously wish we’d have just gotten married on the cruise ship during our honeymoon. lol Unfortunately its definitely too late for us. Hopefully we’ll both feel differently about our weddings once the day arrives. 😄 I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful day.

I am SO relieved to see we’re not the only ones who are more psyched for the marriage/honeymoon part of the event. I know we’ll enjoy the wedding, but I’m feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, to be honest. I’m organized, and getting things done, but there always seems to be 10 more tasks. On the bright side, I had my third dress fitting on Sunday and I looooove it. I couldn’t be happier!
