So lately I’ve been feeling strange things in my stomache. Honestly, it kind of feels like what I thought it would feel like when a baby is moving. I know that doesn’t happen till later in the pregnancy but… I have a sporadic period so it’s always hard for me to tell where I am. I’ve gained weight recently but I just assumed it’s because I need to exercize more. I’m planning on buying a pregnancy test ASAP but I’m very curious!
1. What did it feel like when the baby is moving?
2. Was it ever concentrated to one side more than the other?
3. Was it higher or lower?
Would love any input! Thanks! 🙂

At first it felt like gas. Bubble gut. But then I felt definite kicks. That wasn’t until week 22 though.
If you don’t even know if you are pregnant, my bet is you have gas. Or diarrhea. Or your intestines move when your uterus swells right before your period.
If you are pregnant, and it’s early on (0-18 weeks) then I’d bet it’s just your uterus growing and displacing your intestines. That was uncomfortable for me. But it definitely felt different when it was the baby moving.

At first I felt little pops, especially down on my cervix (Addie was breach until about 30 weeks). I don’t think I had ever felt my cervix before then!

At first it felt like popcorn or a butterfly fluttering. Light movements very low in the pelvis. I started feeling her very early– like 13 weeks. By 18 weeks, I could feel her doing flips. Later it was like jabs or tai chi moves. The funny thing is that our baby still moves the way she did in utero. She has gentle movements of her hands. She’s so dainty!

I was just leaning forward with my hand on the lower left side of my belly and felt a definite jab. I’m 16 1/2 weeks, so it’s a little early, but I’m considering it baby movement. I’ve had gas on and off lately, and it was definitely different.

I’m with MightySapphire on this one, if you’re not even certain you’re pregnant it probably isn’t baby moves.
I first started feeling baby moves at about 3.5/4 months, it was similar to the sensation of moving your hand slowly through water– but inside my uterus. Like a lil’ fish swimming around or something.
From 6months on we referred to the baby as ‘utero ninja’ because like Mrs.DG said, it felt like baby tai chi/jui jit su.
