I wanted my dress to be ethereal, whimisical, fairyesque and beachy…I hope I got it right!
(ugh, the pic is sideways! I think its because my mom sent it to me? even if I resave it, it wont straighten out!)
@Coloradolov- I love love love your dress! Its along the lines of that I was going for…so beachy!

I wanted a Jane Austen feel — soft, vintage, romantic, bohemian.

I think it says elegant, chic but romantic at the same time.

This thread is awesome!
I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going for, but I’d know it when I saw it. Now that I have it, I’m going with elegant and makes me feel queenly.

- That “Beauty and the Beast” was my fave Disney movie, and even though I didn’t want pickups, the pickups found me :).
- I love fairy tales, no matter how cheesy.
- I also wanted to look good in the dress, hence the corset-top that will *hopefully* do a lot to keep the girls in line :).

Sophisticated, glamorous and sexy?

Ahh!! This is a great thread!! My VERY FAVORITE threads here on the bee are those in which brides communicated their visions or feelings about the wedding or certain details about it and then we got to see the completed vision…so this thread definitely fits the bill. I want to comment on sooo many of your pretty dresses and descriptions, but there are just so many. In any event…love this thread.
My dress isn’t made yet, but I do have some pretty detailed sketches (which are at my apartment, which is not where I am right now…maybe I can scan them tomorrow). I tried on about two million dresses before deciding nothing fit and that I wanted to have my dress made to my design. So my end product will probably say that I’m fussy and obsessive. 😛 Seriously, it will probably say those things, but it’s also going to show my fascination with the late Victorian aesthetic, since I drew so many ideas from House of Worth dresses circa 1890. It’ll probably also say that I have an obsession with feminine and romantic details on clothing, which is completely true and pretty much always has been (dress design has lace flutter sleeves, three rows of pleats/ruffles, floral brocade fabric, a lace inset, wispy thin layers of tulle poking out from under the sleeves and just grazing the neckline, and oversized bows at the inset and the back of the dress. Yeah, it has a lot going on, but I promise it works). And also that I have a silk obsession.

Romantic with a modern flair. 🙂

- Wedding: December 2010 - Savannah, GA
My dress says romance. Everything about it is romantic, and it makes me feel beautiful when I put it on.
Hopefully soon I’ll have some pictures of me in my dress. My sister-in-law is bringing my niece and nephew over this weekend to see it, and I’ll have her take my picture in it. Until then, here’s the picture of the model.

elegant, romantic, unique…with a touch of vintage (but that will be in my jewelry)

@ddubzz: your dress is all of those things you wanted it to be, really amazing!! Do you mind sharing the designer? It kind of looks like a Kenneth Pool, but I can’t really tell. I really really love it!
