to the ladies with cheap rent – we pay $1500 a month FOR A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT – no parking! That’s an extra $150!

My in: $4000

His In: $5500

Rent: $1500

Food: $450

Utilities/internet: $120

Cell phones: $128

We don’t own cars and our work pays for each of our monthly subway passes.

Savings: around $6000/month after eating out/random purchases (we are saving for a trip through Asia and a house right now, so we have the belt really tightened!

@mwitter80: What sucks is Fiance is out of a job right now (starts working in May with my uncle and a local construction company) and we’re able to pay the bills with what I make, but we have no savings (that we can touch anyway) and that scares me.

@mwitter80: Ah! That’s really scary. We found out today it’ll be cheaper for us to get our own insurance than go through his work. We’ll definitely get something soon!

I don’t think Fiance would be thrilled with me posting our actual incomes but I can atleast breakdown our budget…

  • Rent: $1300
  • Water: $50
  • Power: $175
  • Cell Phones: $175
  • Car Payment: $333
  • Insurance: $150
  • Upgraded cable and internet: $60 (digital cable and normal internet are included in our rent)
  • Groceries: $500
  • Gas: $200
  • Total: $2943

Based on these figures, we should have about $2,000 left every month.

Reading how much y’all pay in rent is making me depressed! We pay $1800 (and this is a reduced rate, as the landlord is his MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!)
