NurseMandie:  I buy Ijams dry cat food, and I get the kind for elderly cats (10 yrs+) since ours is 14 years old. I have been using it for years and she seems to like it.

NurseMandie:  Which Purina cat food did you feed her before? I feed my girls Purina One Smart Blend Chicken&Rice Formula (after trying many different dry foods, they love this one) and every morning they split a can of fancy feast. The fancy feast helps with my one kitty’s fluid intake, she gets constipated if she doesn’t have it, since she hates drinking from actual clean water sources (shed rather drink from a rain puddle, its gross). We also give them a small amount of cat milk a few times a week and coconut oil as a treat.

I specifically chose the SmartBlend because of the level if protein and the ingredients. It isn’t very expensive and you can purchase it in bulk. Just make sure if you switch the others over to it, you gradually transition them.

Good luck, I hope your fur-baby is feeling better soon.
