Hi Bees. I’m wondering what types of exercise classes you’ve taken and whether you would reccommend them.
I’m not very keen on exercise and I have very busy evenings during the week, so if I can sign up for a class that meets on a regular schedule, I’m a little more likely to stick to it. Even better if I can pay for it ahead of time — I hate to waste money!

Body Pump, Spin/Cycling and Boot Camp. I will take a Zumba class every now and again.

I’m a big fan of Vinyasa Flow Hot Yoga. I try to make it to 3-4 classes a week. My local studio has classes literally all day long, so it’s really nice to be able to pop into a class after work on any day of the week. You can also schedule ahead of time through their app, so it can hold you accountable as well!

I take Zumba, as I love dancing anyway, so it doesn’t feel like a exercising to me. I have done/am doing Piloxing, which is a combo pilates, boxing and balet. It’s not my favorite, though. Pilates on it’s own was good when it fit into my schedule, but it doesn’t anymore 🙁
My big thing is picking what fits into my schedule. I know that if I go home and then want to go out to the gym I’m doomed since once I get home, I am home and I’m not leaving agian.

I do body pump, yoga, and zumba 🙂

I think zumba is a great class to start with -you can go at your own pace and it is fun! I also take yoga, cardioboxing, and pump.

I’ve always wanted to do yoga and pilates, and my aunt swears by her spin class!
But I’m a lonely ol’ gym rat!

I’m not big on classes, I prefer to work out alone or maybe with one other.
I’ve done zumba and an aerobic kickboxing class. Zumba was fun but I didn’t think it was a great workout (I have pretty high expectations though). I enjoyed aerobic kickboxing more because it combined kickboxing with things like weights, abs, steps, lunges, running, etc.

@Olympia: I play soccer 1x/week; joined a running group which builds you up to a 10km race (3x/week); and hot yoga 2x/week
Soccer: $200/20 games (10$/game is pretty good)
Running: it’s 3 months of running 3x/week for $70
Yoga: I go because I have a corporate rate with goodlife, otherwise it would be too much $ but I’m sure there’s local studios around where you are that would be cheaper!
I really like doing a team social sport like soccer, and the gains i get from yoga in terms of strength and flexibility are great. Running is something I’ve always loved to do – but you either love it or hate it… If you hate it, don’t join something like this lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions, bees! I already do a little yoga, and I might add zumba or a similar dance-y class to that.

I’ve only done a few exercise classes but I did really enjoy Step and Body Pump! They really get your heart rate up and you will definitely feel it the next morning!

Right now I take yoga twice a week and Zumba once a week. I also do water aerobics once a week.

@Olympia: I”m very dependent on classes for my workouts. It gets me to gym for a certain time, and I also like not having to think- someone just tells me what to do.
The gym I go to offers a lot of les mills classes, so I go to bodypump (AMAZING!! seriously try it… you really can start to see your body change with it), body flow (a mix of yoga, tai chi and pilates… i really like this one, it feels like a slightly more intense yoga class, with more movement), bodt attack is also a great super sweaty workout, as is rpm (les mills spin class). I’m probably the only preson in the world who has tried zumba and didn’t really love it.
