Just wondering what everyone else did/is doing to stay in shape (without over exerting yourself) while pregnant!
Right now I’m 4 weeks and a few days along and in pretty good shape already. I also have access to a gym, but if anyone has DVDs they’d recommend that would be awesome!

I did everything I normally did except I dropped horseback riding in my last trimester.

After the first tri fatigue/nausea faded, I walked, swam, and did prenatal yoga. It was awesome and I was actually able to healthfully (and under doctor supervision) lose weight while pregnant through exercise and healthy eating. Nothing like leaving the hospital lighter than you were pre-pregnancy!

I almost stopped at first because I was too nauseated and tired. Once that passed, I resumed my karate training (modified of course), I attend aerobics classes and I do DVDs at home. I try to work out every time I feel good, and if I am too tired, I dont. Usually that will give me 3 to 5 times a week.
I bought Fit Mama pregnancy workout DVD, but given that I was pretty fit to begin with, I do not find it challenging enough for me so I keep it for the days when I really don’t feel like training but need a kick in the butt. The good thing about it is that it’s cut in 3 different segments, so when I start to get bored with one, it’s the end and another one begins.

I’ve cut way back from pre-pregnancy– I just haven’t had as much energy or desire, and baby prep takes a lot of time! But as for what I have been doing– I’ve been walking, doing zumba & yoga. During my 1st trimester, walking was especially great– when I felt like I was going to fall asleep (at 6pm or something way too early), I’d go for a walk and that helped me stay awake until a more reasonable bed time.

I have been doing prenatal Pilates and yoga as well as walking. First trimester was worthless. I was so tired, all I could do was go home and sleep! I am now 35 weeks and still able to do the yoga and pilates. I love them both!

We are currently TTC, but I plan on trying to continue the workout routine I am on now. I typically jog 1-2 days a week (4-5 miles each) and cross-fit train 2 days. My crossfit coaches will not let me continue there if I take more than a week off during pregnancy, so hopefully I won’t be so exhausted that I can’t continue.
I do think I might try to get into some prenatal pilates, like
MzMarzipan, too, just because I really enjoy pilates.

I played volleyball in college and was very active. I had been training for a 100 mile bike ride when I got pregnant so I did that ride in my first trimester and continued playing volleyball (no diving) until maybe my 3rd trimester. I did prenatal yoga 2x a week as well. I did have a relatively easy pregnancy though!

Honestly, I was using our elliptical machine until found out was pregnant, between getting married within a month and half to finding out and just plain ole fatigue I haven’t been on it since. I do try to go walking, but it is been so hot and humid here this summer and I can’t take the humidity that my walking is severly limited.

My friend and I went to water aerobics. We were the youngest people there, but it was a lot of fun!!

I continued on my elliptical machine, gave up the horse riding, my horse was a little to green for my to be riding while pregnant, walking some when its not 106 outside.
