So this is just a silly post— but I consider my style to be pretty trendy. Darling Husband is definitely more of a ” classic” type of guy. I usually stick to my styles that I know I like , but I recently bought some mint green Capri pants and I must say– I really like them! They’re spunky enough to make me feel good about wearing them, but not so out there that I’m gawked at! What’s your latest trend you’ve tried? Do share! What article of clothing makes you feel good about wearing?

I still wear the clothes I had in high school. So that about sums it up for me!

I’ve been rocking some obnoxiously colorful shorts this summer (think bright blue and lime green), but my style is very classic so this was an unusual one for me to try. Fun, though.

I usually gravitate towards darker colors but recently I have been in love with bright colors! I have been specifically in love with color blocking and ikat print which seem to be on-trend these days. While I wouldn’t consider myself a trend-follower, I do like to incorporate a few trendy pieces into more classic outfits.

I am the most boringly dressed person on the planet, but it’s ok with me! I wear black pants or a skirt and a cardigan/cami pretty much every day to work, and at home/on weekends I swap out the dress pants for jeans. Almost everything in my closet is blue or black. haha The most adventurous thing about my wardrobe is probably that all my jeans are skinny jeans (just because they flatter me more) and I have a thing for floral-print cardigans.

I don’t really follow trends… except…. I’m one of those people who wears obnoxiously bright colors before they became the “in” thing so I guess I’m already wearing a current fashion trend. Go me lol. (Not everyday, but I do enjoy bright stuff.)
But I have plenty of styles, like work dressy, work casual, weekend wear, date night, etc. I don’t really buy clothes based on trends. I buy based on what I like on my body, or what I need for work/life.

I have yet to purchase a pair of skinny jeans. I keep thinking I want to, but I have thick runner legs… they don’t exactly LOOK skinny in “skinny” jeans :/
I have picked up a few flowy tops. I am not even sure those are still trendy.
Oh crap, I need fashion help!

Summer is my least favorite season and I hate buying clothes at this time of year, so I mainly stick to trendy accessories. This year I got a $6 gold plated thick collar from H&M:
And I got these colorblock shoes:
I wear a lot of black summer dresses so it’s all about the accents for me.
In the fall/winter, I liked to buy a nice pair of boots and a trendy pair, as well as a new blazer and a few classic dresses and tops.

@DaneLady: I refuse to buy skinny jeans just on principle. I’m not sure what that principle IS exactly, but … I’m standing by it!

I follow trends and know what is in fashion, but I am not a slave to them. I choose trends that I like and that work for me, and add a few key pieces to my wardrobe. The trendiest thing I’ve purchased this year was a hi-lo skirt (what I call a “mullet” skirt), and only because it was the prettiest shade of cobalt! I wore it to a music festival, which was perfect, but I haven’t pulled it out of the closet since. My favorite recent trend is neon – I have a structural neon orange necklace that gets tons of compliments every single time I wear it 🙂

I don’t even know what’s “in” right now to tell you. I voted for the “what the hell” option, haha.

I really wanted to vote the first one, but really, I stick to pretty basic stuff. I love skinny jeans (and jeggings, but only as long as they look like jeans–my AE ones are great), boots, scarves, etc. The trendiest thing I’ve bought lately is a hi-lo dress that’s fuchsia over a bright orange tank dress…but I’ve never worn it anywhere lol.
Honestly, I stick to neutrals with a pop of pink, usually, and buy brown or black shoes (or both, if I like a pair enough). I get lots of compliments on my outfits, though!
ETA: When I do buy trendy stuff, I usually get it from Forever21. I can’t justify spending more than that on something that I’ll probably only wear a few times before it goes to Goodwill.

I’m a big Forever 21 shopper, too. My favorite season is fall with the boots/scarves… So I will spend a little more on those items as opposed to neon pants!

I watch the high fashion trends, but I don’t follow them at all! For the most part I like to stick to a pre-70’s retro/vintage aesthetic, or at least do my own thing.

I’m mostly a sweater and jeans person, but I absolutely love the skinny jeans/boots/longer shirts/scarves trend, to the point that I’ll probably try to keep that style as long as possible after it’s no longer trendy.
