We are having a four layer cake with 3 different flavors…Our flavors are coconut pound cake with lime verbena filling, chocolate espresso cake with vanilla buttercream filling and spice cake with pumpkin buttercream filling!!! Our wedding is in october, so the pumpkin/spice cake seemed fitting!!!!
We had a three tier cake and the tiers were as follows
bottom – Devil’s Food with Raspberry Buttercream
Middle – Yellow with Lemon Buttercream
Top – Devil’s Food with Raspberry Buttercream (we ate it that night as a snack)
Seriously the best buttercream I have ever had in my life!

We are having a 4 tier cake. All the tiers will be the same: white cake with whipped lime filling and whipped raspberry filling. Love it!
We just went cake tasting this weekend and decided on 3 flavors.
Top tier: Spumoni (Pistachio cake with cherry whipped cream, dark chocolate ganache, and crushed pistachios)
2nd tier: White cake infused with espresso, then layered with marsala whipped cream and coffee buttercream (kind of tasted like tiramisu)
3rd tier: Chocolate cake with mocha cinnamon cream
I believe the flavor of mine was “Dry as hell” – it’s specific to the area and I’m still pissed about it.
We just changed our flavor…it is now a passion fruit flavored cake with strawberry cream filling with a buttercream icing!
