Half chocolate with buttercream frosting/filling, half white (VERY good) with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. Some of the other flavors were very cool but ultimately we decided people tend to like the basics and would rather have enough of that for everyone.  Fiance wanted chocolate and doesn’t care for fillings, I LOVED the white/raspberry filling.

Our cake is three tier, each tier a different flavor.

Top tier: White cake with fresh sliced strawberries (under buttercream)

Middle tier: Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting (under buttercream)

Bottom tier: Marble cake with oreo frosting (under buttercream)

Tried to get something for “us”, as well as something a little different for everyone else!

We are having three layers.  Our top (anniversary) layer is marble cake with chocolate mousse filling.  The second layer is red velvet with cream cheese filling, and the third layer is banana cake with a layer of chocolate butter cream and a layer of peanut butter buttercream (no allergies here).  It will have white fondant covering though people can take it off if they need to.  I’m super excited about our cake.

ours was 4 layers plus ourtop tier for us to keep and each one was a different flavor.  we had a choc layer with choc filling, a vanilla layer with raspberry filling, a red velvet layer, a cheesecake layer (my fave!) and our top tier was strawberry champagne.  it turned out wonderfully!

Layer 1 : Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling

Layer 2: Vanilla cake with raspberry and cream filling and buttercream frosting

Layer 3: Italian hazelnut cake with hazelnut cream filling and buttercream frosting

My cake was made by a baker who trained in Italy and each cake had about 5 layers. It was insanely delicious.

@mandapants23:  Ok I have to know (In Australia it just isn’t done)….What does pumpkin in cakes taste like?

Does it add a little something to it? I have noticed that you guys have pumpkin in so many dessert type items (ice cream, pies, cakes)

I am so curious….
