    Vanilla, French Vanilla, or similar to vanilla

    Chocolate, chocolate truffle, double chocolate, chocoate explosion, etc

    Coffee, cappuccino, latte or other caffeintated flavor (non chocolate)

    Shortcake or pound cake

    Funfetti

    Carrot cake

    Banana or banana nut

    Red Velvet

    Cheesecake (and any variation on cheesecake including chocolate, caramel or fruit cheesecake)

    We had three tiers and a sheet cake in the back, so we had four flavors:

    Vanilla cake with raspberry filling and white bavarian cream

    Chocolate cake with strawberry filling and chocolate bavarian cream

    Mocha chocolate cake with espresso chocolate cream

    Carrot cake with cream cheese and pineapple filling

    NotFroofy made our cake, a cascading cake with four layers. The bottom one was dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and vanilla butter cream icing. The second was lemon cake with raspberry mousse filling and lemon butter cream icing. The third was sour cream spice cake with pecans and sour cream frosting. The top layer was the traditional British fruit cake with marzipan  and royal icing, which we saved for our anniversary.

    I think we will have:

    layer one: Marble

    layer two: Vanilla

    layer three: Chocolate

    Layer four: Cheesecake

    We’re planning on doing four different types — chocolate & vanilla options for sure, plus a nut option (hopefully…I’m weighing the pros & cons of this, seeing as there’s three people with nut allergies, BUT they’re all specific to a certain nut, so if we do hazelnut I THINK it’ll be okay), and a fruit option (I really like orange, but we’d probably do something more traditional like strawberry).

    These all sound soooo delicious!

    Our bottom layer will be white cake with strawberry filling.

    Second layer is chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (FI request!)

    Third layer is just white cake with buttercream.

    Top tier for our anniverary will be marble with buttercream, but I kind of want some random flavor that we love since we don’t have to worry about our guests liking it or not — like apple cinnamon cake!

    Also, for our rehearsal dinner, if it takes me to the ends of the earth to find one or to make one, I will get a mini croquembouche for my FI! We saw one on Food Network like two years ago, and he still brings up it!

    Wow, I could only find one of my flavors on the poll… I probably didn’t look hard enough. Anyway, we’re having key lime on the bottom and top tier (I just LOVE that flavor so I want to eat it when we cut the cake and in a year for our anniversary). The second layer is spiced cake (basically carrot cake w/ out the carrots). The third layer is red velvet, yum!

    My Fiance wants his mom to make him a red velvet cake for the grooms cake, so I’ll probably switch that out with chocolate or oreo! 🙂
