another vote for hydrangeas…. they just don’t have the durability of being put in bouquets and enduring heat and still looking good hours later…

I’d love to know when peonies ARE is season? They aren’t on August 31st – in fact, I was quoted $35 a stem. I love orchids, so my bouguet and the mother/grandmother corsages/wristlets will have them; and that’s it.

@nocleverbeepun:

In the end, we didn’t have any flowers, but I would have sworn off calla lilies. I can appreciate their aesthetic perfection, but for me they are associated with one thing and one thing only; funerals.

@nocleverbeepun:  I love green and white spider mums because they were my grandad’s favorite.  They just didn’t fit in with our color scheme.

@PABride:  peonies are making a big appearance in our wedding…I thought the season was April-June, but I could be mistaken!  We’re getting married June 21st and our florist said we were in the perfect season for them, but near the end of it:)

Lily of the Valley wasnt that expensive (compared with other flowers like peonies) maybe I was looking at them when they were in season?

I liked peonies but we decided to use cabbage roses because I too was told peonies were expensive and out of season.

Like many other bees, peonies. Not in season!

I did however ask for NO sunflowers and still ended up with some in the centerpieces. rawr etc lol.

Orchids…my sister used them for her wedding,  plus she paid like $30/stem.

I love all flowers, so picking just a few for our wedding was difficult for me.  We stuck with what was in season to be more economical – which is good for May – so I will have peonies (yay!).  However, I will miss tulips, dahlias, lilies (mostly because their pollen can stain), and orchids (my grandmother is allergic).

Peonies! They’ll be hard to get at my time of year.. I’ll be using garden roses instead.

@nocleverbeepun:  I love tulips, and would really love A purple and orange tulip bouquet, but their heads don’t hold up well for a whole day….
