I’ve never seen sunflowers used in funeral arrangements, but if she liked them, I’m sure the family will be touched by your choosing them.
I usually send all white flowers (but never lilies for me either).

Something like this might work, you could add some cream or white roses, mums etc. Or you could even have some of the red/orange sunflowers to tone down the brightness…

I think of gladiolas. Funerals always have tons of gladiolas! That being said, I don’t particularly like them. If sunflowers were her favorite, I think you should use those.

Gladiolas make me think funeral instantly. Maybe a bouquet of white roses and mums.

@asianyoushi: Peace Lilly. Although my grandmother had yellow roses on her casket if I am remembering right (I kind of blocked a lot of it out)

Wait, you have twelve days notice on a funeral? Is that…normal? I don’t think i’ve ever seen a funeral happen more than 3-4 days after a death.
I like the idea of using her favorite flowers. Just because the flowers don’t “say funeral” doesn’t change that people will know that it’s a funeral. I think it’s lovely that the flowers will reflect something she loved.
