I mix two foundations – Clinique Perfectly Real and Clinique Super-Moisture. The first one is matte, has good coverage and looks natural; the second one is a lighter, more dewy and has moisturizer. I have the first one in a lighter color that matches my skintone and the second in a more bronze tone. Mixing them allows me to adjust the color as I get less or more tan throughout the year.

My daily face is:

Bare Minerals Original Foundation

Set with Covergirl Powder **My skin is oily throughout the day. Sometimes I

touch it up with this powder (on a big soft brush, I throw the pad it comes with away)

I do NOT like the bare minerals “mineral veil” – It makes me look more oily and strangely matte finish.(I know that sounds contradictory, but it’s how it is)

Then, and this is my stuck-on-an-island-1-product pick, bare minerals warmth.

I know it looks dark, but it really is very light on. Perfect bronzer. The last time I ordered,

I tried the soft focus in golden radiance, or something like that. I like it… but not as much as the original warmth.

Then, a quick dot of neutrogena blush in “fresh” – which is a hard to find shade, but some Walgreen’s stores have it.

Eyeliner, light brow pencil, & mascara and I’m done!

I know you didn’t ask for all this… maybe I’m bored? LOL.

And, as I typed it all, it sounded like I wear a whole drugstore, but

it takes me under 10 minutes and it’s very light and natural looking.

Before I wore this foundation, I was wearing Covergirl Aquasmooth…

which was really great, but they changed the formula maybe… 5 years ago

and it just isn’t the same now 🙁

I use covergirl foundations, although I switch it up sometimes. I used the new covergirl nature luxe almost daily (its has a little more coverage than a tinted moisturizer) and for nights out I use truematch with the covergirl clean powder. This is the only foundation brand that does not break me out.

I use this with a very light bronzer (I’m really pale).  It covers what it needs to without having a caked on look.

Regarding the pore size problem. I think the best thing, besides an awesome foundation, is the prep for the foundation. Some sort of primer is considered a must by many makeup gurus. Smashbox has a very popular one called photofinish. I’ve heard that it’s the same thing as monistat chaffing gel I believe.

Currently I’m using a Bobbi Brown foundation since it helps cancel out the redness in my face. I’m liking it better than MAC so far. I have clogged pore and backhead issues and I haven’t noticed any increase since using the Bobbi Brown.

Now, my new face cream… that’s a different story.  Yell

I use Smashbox high definition foundation with Smashbox Halo powder.  It’s kind of on the sheer side but makes me look airbrushed.

I would recommend a primer first before any putting on any makeup on. It smooths out your skin and makes your foundation goes on more smoothly and easier to blend. I use Smashbox primer, followed by NARS foundation and then the smashbox halo on my T-Zone area. I like the NARS cause you can build your coverage going from light to more coverage as needed.

I use an Oil of Olay Moisturizer. Then Clinique’s Acne Solutions foundation. It has seriously great coverage, and better than I’ve found in any drug store brand. Then I use Bare Escentuals Warmth as a blush/bronzer.

Finally, I use the same powder as @DesireeAnne: Maybelline’s Mineral Foundation, which acts as a matte powder and keeps the foundation in place all day!

I have mild acne and scarring, so I’m always on the lookout for good coverage make-up that doesn’t look cakey!

@Ms. Noodles: I’ve wondered about primer, but it’s SO hard for me to justify buying it since it’s usually the same price (or more expensive) than my foundation. Do you think it really makes a big difference? Do you use it over a moisturizer, too?

as a sufferer of large pores myself, seriously…(thanks Dad and your genes!) a MUST HAVE in your beauty arsenal is NARS Skin Smoothing Face Prep.  I’m not even kidding.  My sister discovered it about 3 weeks ago and I recently tried it out.  I repeat…for large pore gals this is a MUST HAVE!  It’s soooooo worth the 30 bucks because it barely takes any per use so you get your money’s worth.  Go buy immediately!  They sell it at Nordstrom and Sephora!  And no I don’t work for NARS haha

Oh it does!!! I actually buy the sample size of the Smashbox and it lasts me for awhile. A little goes a long way, so one drop (smaller than a dime works for my whole face. I tell my friends, think of it as Spanx for your skin. It just smoothes all the lumps and bumps and plus it helps hide the shine from my moisturizer.  I use it over my lotion.

Sephora has a sample size (I think it’s 10 dollars). I always get the sample anyways cause the pump on the regular size always breaks. Plus it helps as a barrier between your skin and the makeup so it doesn’t settle into your pores. And I would definitely stay away from matte foundation, a lighter foundation would be better and create a dewey look that helps deflects the pores and create a more youthful look. I’m thinking that cause you only used concealer here and there that you really don’t need a full coverage, but more of just making our skin more even toned. NARS, Smashbox and MUF all have high def makeup thats really good for that.

I use MAC foundation the full coverage one, it leaves my face flawless but feels light on my face, all my makeup is MAC, Clineque or Estee Lauder they are the best, and suitable for sensitive skin!!
