What foundation do you use?

Over the years, I’ve used some of the most expensive foundations out there (Shu Uemura, MAC, NARS, Trish McEvoy, Shisedo, Stila, and a ton of other high-end deparment store foundations), Bare Minerals etc., and in recent years, I’ve been wearing Mary Kay and SeneGence. However, along the way, I discovered an inexpensive drug store brand that I thought was quite nice, and that is Loreal True Match liquid foundation. It’s only about $11 and goes on nicely and feels good on your skin.

I use IT Cosmetics CC cream.  A tube is $39.00, but my last tube lasted me well over 5 months.  I bought a replacement tube thinking I was nearly out and somehow eeked out another four weeks.  It only takes a pea size amount or less.

(Disclaimer: I don’t wear makeup on the weekends usually and I’m not big on touching up.  So I just put on my makeup in the morning before work and that’s it – I don’t redo it if I go out later.  I only wear makeup on the weekends if I’m going to an event like a shower or a play or concert.)

honeybee2020 :  Tarte Amazonian clay full coverage $40ish and it lasts quite a bit since I don’t need to use too much of it. I have slightly oily skin and it helps keep my skin dry for most of the day.

Maybelline Fitme matte is the kitties titties in my opinion. I used to wear Napoleon Perdis (lol at what’s happening to them now), but it never looked as nice on me as the Maybelline did.

But, I got some Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear in a sample pack and it’s SO GOOD but I just can’t justify the price…. -_-

I use Mac Face and Body. It very lightweight, and no one can ever tell that I’m wear foundation. It’s currently $39 a bottle, but it’s 4 oz. so it lasts a really long time. It comes out to $9.25 an ounce, which is way cheaper than many drugstore brands.

I also use Mac Face & Body. It’s the ony one that seems to work with my dry skin, I like the fact you can build up coverage and one big bottle goes a looooong way.

I use dwtn paris eau de teint. It’s a bio brand from France and I’d say it’s more of a light foundation which I love.

I just use Neutrogena tinted moisturizer, or their “Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Protector.”  Used those for a long time.

I use Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint (Sephora), it’s the best match for my skin that I’ve ever found, slightly radiant finish, easy, blendable, melts into my skin and I only need a pea sized amount for a full face. It’s not cheap, but this tube has lasted me since August.

I own an embarrasing amount of foundation and one of my all time favorite drug store ones is Loreal Infallible Total Cover 24 Hour Foundation.

Depending on what you want your foundation to do, it’s very matte and stays in place all day. For me, I thought it went on nicely and covered up some imperfections (acne scarring, fine lines) without settling into them and making them more noticeable like a lot of “dewey” foundations tend to do on me. There’s also no sheen to it, so again– very matte and a little goes a long way. I think it’s really comparable and almost a dupe to Tarte Amazonian Clay– they have similar qualities! But the price is in the $8-$10 range. Worth a try IMO!

honeybee2020 :  Do you want a matte or dewy foundation? and how much coverage? Since the Fit Me is a pretty full coverage, you might like CYO Lifeproof from Walgreens.  It has a dewy finish if you don’t powder it, and is full coverage while still looking like your skin.  Ever since I tried it, I prefer over my Too Faced, Estee Lauder, It Cosmetics, and Becca foundations. And it’s only $7!

I love love the It Cosmetics CC cream! It has a blurring effect and is lightweight. Coverage is pretty good…not sure if its really full coverage though. Also, it’s pricey but I only use one pump for my whole face, so it should last for a good while.

I use IT Cosmetics CC cream day to day and they now do a matte finish. The tube lasts me ages so although it’s not the cheapest it’s way better than some of the foundation I’ve spent money on in the past that are now languishing in a drawer. The SP coverage is a bonus.
