I adore diamonds, adore adore ADORE.
However, recently (and by recently, I mean 8 hours ago) I developed an obsession with Rubies & Garnets.
I’m quite sure I’m now a ruby expert, and I’ll soon be educating the masses on this amazing red stone!

What gem has you going head over heels?

Alexandrite, or anything color change. I’d also really like to get my hands on some Andalusite.

I have a loose color change sapphire I need to set that I play with ALL the time. I leave it sitting on my desk in a box 🙂

@FutureDrAtkins: I think a new obsession may start! Truly is mesmerizing.
Where would one search for a color changing sapphire?

I actually like amber a lot. I didn’t want it in an engagement ring, but I collect amber jewelry because I love the color of the stone.

I have loved blue sapphires since I was a kid and recently developed a crush on emeralds.

@LeSpice: alexandrite, because it is a rare totally natural with no treatment at all color change gemstone. Here are mine. “ruby” by night (ligh)..”emerald” by day (light)! Pardon the dust on our piano.

I love diamonds, blue sapphires, and pearls.
I recently passed the Shreve Crump & Low store on my way to the Nespresso cafe in Boston, and they had a display of sapphire and diamond jewelry. BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!
Luckily my Fiance loves sapphires too, so he knows that the next piece of jewelry he gets me needs to be sapphire.

@LeSpice: I found this one on ebay. There’s some on Etsy too and Kirkawa. All over really. Just google for color change sapphire 🙂
