Our bridesmaids and groomsmen “have” to spend about $100 on clothes to be in the wedding. In reality, they are spending more than that because the wedding is about 3 hours out of town for them all, so they have to drive, get a hotel for two nights, etc. But they would have attended as guests and had to get at least 1 night in a hotel though, and I have invited them to stay with me the night before the wedding. They also would have gotten gifts for the shower and wedding, so I’ll set that aside.

Maid/Matron of Honor is throwing me a bachelorette party and shower, which I am sure is costing her a fair amount of money. 2 of my 3 bridesmaids would have attended, but they probably are kicking in some extra to cover some of the cost. So let’s say another $50 extra per bridesmaid there, so their bare minimum cost to be in the wedding is about $150 (although I am sure they are spending more than that, those are costs they would have also had as a guest).

I am spending $50 each on gifts for them. I have gotten them:

– A personalized cute tote bag with their initials on it (nothing wedding-themed)

– A lightweight pretty floral robe they can wear the day of the wedding to the salon but also after the wedding (doesn’t say Bridesmaid or anything on it)

– A Camelback water bottle

– A fun book to read (picked out something different for each of them based on what they would like)

I’ll also throw some snacks/candy in there for them to have over the weekend.

I am also paying for them all to have their hair and makeup done professionally for the wedding, although I do not consider that part of the gift.

Fiance hasn’t picked out gifts for his groomsmen yet, but his budget is also $50/guy. We are paying for $55 of their tux rental as well, but again, do not consider that part of the gift.

I got them pretty makeup bags with goodies like lip gloss, nail polish, etc in each of their tastes, paid for their hair, and made them each a personalized shadowbox with a heartfelt thank you note written on the back. I also had an amazing huge lunch catered to us on the day of the wedding. I refused to buy them jewerly. I felt it was too cliche/over done (no offense to those who’ve given it, really! Just my personal life expereince here).

I had three bridesmaids.  I got my girls purple sweat suits to wear the day of the wedding.  I also got them each a pair of comfy reception shoes that were about $30 a pair.  I also threw in a little Burt’s Bees lip gloss for each of them.    My mom paid for their jewelry as a gift from her.  I also paid for their wedding day hair.

My husband got his two guys monogramed dress shirts from LLBean.  My brother in law got two shirts and my brother got one shirt and a set of horseshoe cufflinks.  He loves horseracing.

Our budget is about $50 per person. I got each girl jewelry that suits their personal style. With all the post- Christmas sales I picked up the jewlery at Sears and Macys for 40-60% off. I also got them cardigan sweaters from the Limited because our wedding is outdoors and it may get cold at the reception. I may pay for manicures for them or purchase something additional…I am unsure as of yet.

The groomsmen are getting engraved flasks and chuck taylor shoes.

I’m only have 1 Maid/Matron of Honor, and 1 Bridesmaid or Best Man – with that being said, I will be getting them matching clutches/shoes/jewelry but that WON’T be a part of their gift. I plan to do gift baskets will all types of things in it – Some gift cards to places I know they shop.. makeup totes, lip gloss, somewhat expensive lotions/fragrance [think sephora], and other items as well.

I won’t be getting anything that spefically has my wedding date, Maid/Matron of Honor or Bridesmaid or Best Man on it – as these items hardly ever get used afterwards.

I don’t even know how much these cost, but I got my bridesmaids Coach perfume sticks. They have one scent on one side and another scent on the other side. I loved them so much my mom’s fiance surprised me with one this holiday season.

@NAvery:  I was thinking about buying them statement necklaces, but decided they would prob not get much use out of them. I am thinking about paying for them to have  a mani/pedi, or something beauty related (hair/make up) to help witht the cost of the wedding.  Also, I am giving them a small bag filled with small girly stuff and a $5 gift card to starbucks, so they can buy themselves a drink to kick start off the wedding morning prep  :).

I got my bridesmaids an adorable Kate Spade make up bag with essentials in it….they were easy….

groomsmen  were a bit more difficult! We spent @ 70-80 per groomsman.  We got these great 6-bottle beer carriers: https://www.etsy.com/listing/119244526/beer-carrier-perfect-gift-for-birthdays. we personalized each by filling with a mix of craft beers we knew they loved.  The etsy shop owners were great about staining the color we wanted and adding bottle openers to each.

This may not work depending on your wedding parties age and how often they drink but I got my bridesmaids a champagne glass (MOH slightly larger ) and decorated them with glass charms with each of their initials and burlap and lace to match my theme. I plan to have mimosas with them while getting ready and thought it would make for great pictures and as a cute keepsake. The boys will be getting pilsner glasses with J etched into them, since all of them and my Fiance have the same initials. Im surprising him and the other boys with a “cake” made of my Fiance favorite beer stacked to make tiers and tied with burlap, for them to enjoy while getting ready.

I’m getting my Bridesmaid or Best Man a satin wrap to wear for the wedding since it’s in October, a personalized tumbler, necklace and earrings to wear for the wedding and a personalized hanger. I am spending approximately 40.00 on each or less. For the Groomsmen I’m taking a small box and personalizing each gift to there personality like one of my Groomsmen is having a baby around the time and so he is going to have in his a diaper changing apron and tool kit, and a persoal item to remind them of our wedding day and that is around 40.00 as well for each.

I have 7 bridesmaids (I know. Stupid). I got them handmade clutches from etsy, lip gloss, a nice frame with a picture of us (I dug some nice old shots up), made them handmade totes (black with a painter silver doily circle), and got them nice earrings for the wedding (studs they can wear again).

I think one of the most important things I’m putting in there is water, Clif bars, ibuprofen and a small bottle of alcohol… things they actually will want and need the day of the wedding instead of stupid junk they don’t want!!!
