I plan on getting him a watch also, his dream is custom made shoes but I will save that for another occasion.

ashleymarie843 :  I got him a burberry watch with a gumetal grey face that matched his dark grey wedding suit. He opened it before the ceremony and go to wear it for the day. It’s now his special going out watch lol.

My hand in marriage ;). We agreed no gifts, the wedding was expensive enough.

I’m not married just yet but I’m thinking of giving my Fiance an engraved pocket watch!

MexiPino :  This is actually the best. If I had a sentimental idea this good I would totally do it.

I didn’t even know that getting a gift for each other was a thing on the wedding day and we’re not going to. There’s already SO much planning and paying for things going on already, there’s no point in forcing a gift just for the sake of it. If something cute and meaningful like the above story occurs to me I might, but otherwise nope.

OH, but for his birthday which is 2 months before the wedding, I’m going to make him a huge professionally printed photo album of all the photos from important parts of our relationship and am going to call it ‘Before we got hitched” or something silly.

ashleymarie843 :  Nada. Be sure he knows this is expected. It’s not in every culture. I hadn’t heard of it and my husband didn’t either so we skipped it. It’s a nice idea though. Ive hard of watches, cufflinks, and a nice sentimental gift with a letter too. Maybe a nice meaningful photo in a nice frame?

ashleymarie843 :  My gift to my husband on our wedding day was my fine ass self.

In all seriousness, we just didn’t think it was necessary to do gifts. Which worked out well, because come the week of the wedding, I had no energy for anything extra. It just didn’t happen and it was fine. Although, my photographer and videographer both seemed a little put off that we weren’t doing a big, romantic gift exchange. We adopted kittens the following weekend. Those were our gift.

I bought Darling Husband a Cartier watch.

We exchanged gifts while getting ready for the ceremony and we both wore our gifts at the wedding. It was stressful deciding what to buy but ultimately it was worth seeing his happy face 🙂
