Hello bee’s, my biological father was not in my life until I turned 18 years old. We have been speaking for about 6 years now but I do not know him that well. All of the gift ideas im finding for fathers are really emotional and do not fit the relationship I have with him. I want to get him something nice and thoughtful still as he is helping pay for the wedding. Any ideas of something to get for him?

I’m in the same boat, well sort of.
My parents got divorced when I was 8, and although he did pay child support, I didn’t see him again until I was 14, I have not seen him since I was 16, but he writes about once a year.
That being said, I don’t really know him all that well, he isn’t helping pay for our wedding, but all of our parents are getting a gift at our reception.
I’m thinking I might just get him an engraved watch, or pocketwatch. I know for a fact he has no use for cufflinks.
Maybe a money clip?

Tell us a little about his lifestyle – is he more of a blue collar worker or a white collar worker? Tie guy or jeans guy? Does he have quite a bit of money and can buy anything he wants, or does he struggle? Is he married? Does he live in a large city or a smaller town? Does he use gadgets? Are there any sports or hobbies he is interested in?
I know you don’t know him too well, but I imagine you know some sort of basics like that… that will help me give you some ideas! How much do you want to spend?
I like the website Uncommon Goods for gift ideas.

He is def a blue collar worker. Jeans type of guy. He makes a good amount of money but does like to gamble with it. He is married and I also do not know his wife that well. Smaller town. Im not sure about gadgets. He is a Minnesota Vikings fan. Im thinking no more than $200. I hope this helps with some ideas! I will check out that website!
