I wanted all my gifts! We were using all of my husband’s stuff from college (over 10 years ago) so it was old and missmatched. All of my registry was very practical, and things we needed. We went and bought the rest of it after the wedding.

We really wanted our knives, pots & pans, dyson.  We got our knives, bought the rest!  DH really wanted the garlic press (which we ended up buying).  I really wanted the food processor (which Mother-In-Law bought for a shower gift – yay!)

well i had a honeymoon registry and i know its technically all money, but so little people used it, so we did the things that were paid for! one excursion to Dunns River Falls and a private dinner on the beach!  other things i was  hoping people would buy or contribute to was a couples  massage – but we got it free at our honeymoon resort because we had our marriage certificate with us!  and then the last thing i really wanted were my TTD photos, which we did anyway…so it just added to the cost of the wedding.  i was quite pleased overall  ๐Ÿ™‚

Everyday dishes & flatware, upgraded knives, and some of the baking dishes (mine need replacing since I’ve had them for awhile).  China would be the next tier–I really, really want it, but I don’t need it as badly.  Someone already bought my mixer and I’m super psyched about that! Definitely going to be a workhorse in the kitchen…my wrists are glad they won’t have to knead quite so much bread.

I really wanted the LARGE All Clad slow cooker and someone has bought it already ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m a happy camper!

@AB Bride: Wow, you are having lots of showers! How nice! ๐Ÿ™‚

Marchesa china by Lenox. But I’m not putting that on my registry because people would just laugh.  Saving up for it myself!

Off the top of my head, I would say a food processor, but FMIL’s friend is supposedly giving us a brand new Cuisinart that she’s had just lying around. Who has a new food processor just lying around?! Not that I’m complaining. So, if it’s nice (meaning actually new, not a 15-year-old model), that may come off the registry. Otherwise, I really, really wanted a Keurig and my parents bought it for us already! ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re still a ways out but I sure know that a Keurig is on our list ๐Ÿ™‚ Some of these are great ideas, though, I’m making sure to check back at this thread before we set our registry up!

Is it weird that I probably wont create a registry. The only thing I wanted was a Kitchenaide Mixer (the pro 6 quart kind) and I got tired of waiting for one so I bought it last November. I will get mymothers fine China, I have cool regular dishes, I just bought new sheets….What should I even put.

We have been living together for 8 years with kids and a house, so our registry was not the “usual”.

We had some special things on there that we would really like, but tried to keep options on there in the lower price range too.

A bunch of our “hoped for” things came from that Victorian Trading company catalog, like this bed canopy:

These old fashioned, lacey cotton sheets:

Or this CD player that looks like an antique radio.

Also on our registry was a newer/bigger/better stovetop espresso pot and  a stovetop frother, and an old fashioned “kit kat” clock, and a super loud alarm clock. LOL.

No one bought anything off the registry.  One friend who couldn’t go to the wedding asked bout the registry but didn’t buy anything.  My wife’s friends from Iowa got together and got us a gift card which we used to buy a GPS for the car (since we kept getting lost in Iowa!) and then my mom gave us something and that was it really.   My mom is the type who would never use a registry.  She is weird about gifts and generally gives things she thinks you REALLY need or somethign that SHE would actually want.

So we will definitely be buying that espresso pot for sure! And maybe the alarm clock too, but the sheets and canopy will have to wait.
