My Future Mother-In-Law bought us a gift as a wedding/engagement gift before we were registered anywhere. 7-in-one electric pressure cooker/rice cooker. The product design has some annoying flaws, but it makes good rice! Too bad we already have a giant rice cooker (and crock pot) and I wouldn’t have asked for a another large appliance.

Today, our first registry item arrived today!! Compact blender set from an older family friend and I’m stupid excited to use it. Summer Smoothies!!

I’m a bit worried now that we’ll get all the novelty items were registered for on a whim- fancy coffee maker, roomba- when I all really want is flatware and plates XD

liaeona:  I registered for a kitchenaid as a wish item, and am thinking now I should upgrade a model. What do you normally make in it? Moor difference?

Plates, cups, bowls, Kitchenaid mixer went first off of ours, plus several of the bigger-ticket items that were bought by close relatives. I was pretty surprised that people actually bought us those, but I guess if they were planning on giving X amount it makes sense to purchase the most expensive item within their budget instead of giving 10 smaller ones. I was also surprised that people bought our tupperware and a cake stand/dome.

Kitchenaid mixer is my favorite thing on any registry. If I give a larger gift to someone who’s close to me, I want to buy that!

hokie2wildcat:  Those are too cool for words! That is such a dangerous store. I could go nuts buying myself presents from there. It’s a great site for getting Christmas presents for all of my nerdy friends and family in one place!

I think I was most shocked that people would purchase multiple decently priced items from the registry!

Darling Husband and I are fans of having a cocktail or 2 (or 3…), and we (I) couldn’t resist registering for a pair of some Kate Spade His & Hers Double Old Fashioned Glasses. These were pricey $50 for only 2 glasses, and I got called out for my grandmother for registering for glasses that essentially costed $25 a piece. Low and behold, they were one of the first gifts we recieved and they happened to come from my GRANDMOTHER of all people! To top it off, she purchased 2 pair of them when when only registered for one. In addition, she purchased a 16pc dinnerware set that we registered for…gotta love my granny! A pic of the Kate Spade glasses is below and a bonus pic of me hugging my granny on my wedding day! ๐Ÿ™‚

First thing purchased off our registry: mini dutch oven shaped like a pumpkin. Adorable!! I added it as a “omg isn’t that cute I really want it but we definitely don’t need it BUT I WANT IT” item and apparently my aunt agreed ๐Ÿ™‚

liaeona:  thanks for the feedback. I think I might go for the larger one!

SO I didn’t realize that the couple that sent us the mini blender set ALSO bought the larger blender. I registered for both thinking, well we’ll probably get one or the other, and a large blender would be good for soup and pesto… but I’m so touched by thier generosity and adherence to a theme. XD 2/4 appliances already and no space to put them!
