I was wondering about what to do with my wedding bouquet during the reception? I will probably be tossing a a nother bouquet and giving my mom my original. But where do you put it the whole night? Or does it just lie around the table?

I bought vases at Michaels for my bouquet as well as my bridesmaids (my florist charged a rental fee). I’m going to have them set at the head table for us.

Mine helped decorate the cake table.

Your day of coordinator will probably take it from you and either place it on your cake or sweet heart table (or in your bridal suite if there are no good places in the room).

I like the idea of using it as part of the decor on the tables!..Thats a great way to save money and get the most out of those flowers!

I just sat mine on our sweetheart table. My toss bouquet was on the cake table.

That’s my plan, too! Instead of centrepieces at the head tables, my bouquet and the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets will be held in vases during the reception.

I had mine at the head table too, however not in vases, they were placed on the table with the heads of the flowers facing out. Mine was white and was put in the middle, my 4 bridesmaids had red and their ones were placed on the head table as well, spread out.
My florist left my boquet for the toss in a vase by the head table so I knew where it was to throw it.

I’m going to utilize all ceremony floral arrangements including my bouquet in my reception decor. Perhaps placing it as the centerpiece of the head table where my fiance and I will be sitting.

@nzgirl: did your flowers make it through the night?
I like the look of bouquets when layed on the table, but afraid they may wilt. So I am contemplating putting them in vases and decorating the head and cake table. My bouquet will be either laying down or in a vase at our sweetheart table.

@Crigger5: Date twin!
We’re doing the vase thing too. Mine will probably go near the guest book so people can look at it closely [brooch bouquet], and the bridesmaids will probably be spread out on miscelaneous tables [gift, favors, etc].

@arabesque: Yes it did! I was quite surprised as it survived a windy few hours before the reception during the photo shoot but still looked great at the end of the night.
Here is a photo of what it looked like, sorry for the really bad quality – all our wedding photos are saved on the hard drive so just took a photo of the photo.
Before the bridal party got to the reception I had a white “&” in the middle of the Mr and Mrs signs and then switched it for my boquet once we got there. There were 2 red bridesmaids boquets spaced out in front of the groomsmen next to my Darling Husband and 2 in front of the bridesmaids next to me.

We used my bouquet and my BM’s bouquets as decoration at our head table – the florist left vases there for us to put our bouquets into after entering the reception! Worked out pretty well.

Thanks Ladies. i think working them in as part of the decor is going to be a great way of showing them off and getting maxuming bang for your buck!
If anyone has any more pictures of what they did with their bouquets, please share!

I saw something on the Joann fabrics website yesterday. Essentially it is a vase but you attach it to the front of the table.
