As in forgetting stuff or doing stupid stuff. I have ADD and I do a lot of um…. ” forgetting”? FI calls me space cadet. My friends call me Dory (Finding Nemo) you get the picture.
So, I’ve been known to
– Pay for the gas and leave without pumping 🙁
– Pay for groceries and leave without them, only to return to the store to get them.
– Once when I lived in a small studio, I invited family over and I saved food for my brother who was coming home late from work. When he arrived I spent 30 minutes looking for his food. Since I couldn’t find it, I decided to prepare more for him. As I grabbed a skillet from under the sink in the cabinet, there was his plate of food there. O.o to this point it is beyond me why and when I put his dinner there! Wtf
– Here’s a good one from a friend. She was talking on the phone and wanted to take the dog out. She opens the sliding door, grabs her kid by the hand and takes him out to the back yard. She pets his head and closes the door. Dog is inside and the kid is outside looking at her like WTF. Her husband tells her Did you just locked the kid out in an attempt to take the dog out? She almost died. Lol
So, what are your crazy funny stories of atupid things you’ve done?

Before I had a car with a remote to lock/unlock it, I used to lock my keys in the car all the time just out of habit of pressing the button when I got out. Once at the gas pump, luckily the window was slightly cracked and we were able to get a coathanger in there to grab the keys. Once with the car running and I didn’t notice until hours later when I went back out to the car. And another time after getting rearended we pulled off to the side, I slipped on the ice getting out of my car and then locked the keys in the car. 🙁

I would say that at least a quarter of the time when I pull something from the oven, I forget to turn off the oven. It drives my husband nuts.

JenGirl: I did that once in a tiny studio apartment with one of those old tiny ovens with no lights or screens or window, so you can’t tell that it’s on other than it being hot. I left it on for 24 hours and kept wondering why the apartment was SO HOT!

Hmm.. I’ve never intentially done anything crazy like pump and not pay, or dine and dash. But I have accidentally left my curling wand on.. thank god I remembered before the left the house.

jenilynevette: lol, I’ve left my hair iron on all day to find it still on after work several times. Aside for a waste of electricity, it doesn’t cause any damange – just a nice warm spot on my laminate counter top.
My dumb moment was just locking the keys in my car, once with the car running. My car was smart, and wouldn’t let you lock the doors from the driver side if the door was open, you *had* to use the key once you were out and closed the door. My smart ass would reach over to the passenger side to lock it so I could put the keys away while still seated in the car. So if I got distracted on the way out, I’d leave the keys in the ignition, reach and lock, and get out. Luckily I have keyless entry now so I never have to worry about keys as long as I have my purse now.

lol. I didn’t even mention locking keys because that was way too common for me for a period of time until I developed a coping tecnhique and now it doesn’t happen anymore.
Just to give you an idea, once I locked keys of apartment inside. A guy came in and helped me. I locked them in again the same day. Had to call a company to come open the door. I got ready for work. I was super stressed and guess what I realized as soon as I closed the door? Yep. Doors were locked for the third time in a day. I sat in the hallway, cried and called work and explained I was not fit to work that day.

JenGirl: ShhhItsaSecret: hahah that is funny. And scary. I think because I don’t trust myself on these things I check obsessively that I’ve turned everything off when I cook. Lol

I thought of another one!
When I was in high school, I would often go to bed and fall asleep in my room with the TV on, my stepdad was often up late and would come in and turn it off when he went to bed. One night this happened and instead of shutting off the TV, I thought he was trying to wake me up (even though I had an alarm). So I stayed in bed for like 5 mins more and then got up and ready to go to school. Once I was ready to leave, I went in to my parents room to tell them I was leaving (the fact that they were still sleeping didn’t give me a hint apparently). My mother was very confused and low and behold it was 12:30 am! I’ll never live that one down!
