My entire wedding is bargain!

Dress: $400 after tax (no alterations necessary)

Photographer: $500 (he is fantastic and we have him for approx. 8 hours)

Cake/Baker: Free!  One of my BMs is a baker and is giving us our cake as a wedding gift

Officiant: Free!  FI couldn’t decide between two people for best man position and I told him to ask one to marry us 🙂

Our centerpieces are recycled wine bottles and the corks for place card holders 🙂

My hair and makeup for all the Bridesmaid or Best Man, and me (5 in total) is costing me $300!

my cake is only going to cost $200-$300 as my maid of honour is fully trained in wedding cakes and her present to me is the labour for the cake, so I’m just paying ingredients!

My engagement and wedding band – got for under what Fiance said was budget for engagement alone! Saved over $2200!

And my photographer, we saved $600!

I love being a wedding photographer and having close friends in the business. So blessed!

so far the best deal is invitations! Wasn’t planning on doing our own but Hobby Lobby had all their wedding stuff 50% off last week and I happened to find ones I loved! $40 for 100 invites!

DK only $495 for 8 hrs of playing time. Usually $1,200 during “prime time” bridal season. Thank you NOVEMBER wedding.

This thread is depressing as I feel that I paid too much for most things, lol. Let’s see:

my veil was $30 or so from lightinthebox. I wish I didn’t have to get robbedd by Dressilyme first, though.

my videographer charges a remarkable $475 and her work is absolutely amazing. I look at her site and cry honest-to-god tears at every single video clip.

I’m supposed to get free worldwide shipping through my job, but they didn’t approve it in time and I was looking at hundreds of dollars in fees to get my party supplies and whatnot sent to my Destination Wedding location. However, my fiance’s aunt paid for it as a surprise to us. Cha-ching!

I won’t have to pay for dress alterations and I have 2 professional seamstresses attending my wedding and they’re both more than ecstatic to help me with my dresses (which are now all too big)

Oh! Here’s a good one, I am entitled to one paid overseas trip every two years through my job. And I timed my wedding to coincide with this travel period so all my airfare to the wedding (in the Caribbean), to the at-home reception (in South America), to the honeymoon (also in the Caribbean) and back to the country where I live (over $3k easily) is all completely 100% covered. Boom.

I also found an invitation set that comes out to about $1 each. It’s etsy, and the seller has great reviews

@engleman10513:  best deal we got was our photographers. Where I live the price to get just 1 photographer for the standard package (8 hr coverage and pictures) starts at $5000! To have a videographer, we would have to add on another $3,000 and again, just basic raw footgage, no editing!

So, we did a little more research and found a company that had amazing packages. We picked the most expensive one because it was $3500 and we got everything we wanted. We got 9hrs of coverage, 2 photographers, 1 videographer, engagement shoot, edited video, we get to keep all raw material, 1 photo album, consultation visits are unlimited. I told my Fiance we better take this deal now before they realize that the price of this package is too low. A year goes by, I check the price and it went up $1000 but it would still have been a good deal because we are getting not 1 but 3 people to cover our wedding!
