Egad! What shade did you go for? I just dyed mine auburn and was terrified of this happening, though when I dye mine, it usually ends up too dark at first. 🙁

I think the safest way to fix it is to go to a salon–is there a cosmetology school in your area? You can get mega-discounts!

Oh man, that has happened to me more times than I can count! Two things have worked for me. One- Root touch-ups kit in a slightly darker colour than your over-all hair tone. This is a little touch and go, because it can either end up perfect, or with your roots a little too dark (I’ve had it happen both ways.) The second way would be to dye it again, picking a “neutral” colour base rather than anything with “gold” or “honey” in the name. The same colour you used may work, but I’d go a tiny bit darker if I were you. Dark covers any mistakes.

If you can’t dye it for awhile: clear mascara mixed with eye shadow that matches your hair. Seriously 🙂

ETA: I agree with the PP. If you can afford it, definitely go to a hair school for a fix. I’m not sure about your area, but the schools in my town do colour jobs for under $20.
