I genuienely don’t know how people orgnise weddings WITHOUT eBay. It’s really helped us stay under budget on a lot of aspects of the wedding, meaning that overspends in other aspects haven’t hurt our budget at all. We’ve managed to get loads of stuff; dresses, decor, flowers and loads of personalised items for decor and gifts which I think just give it a little something more and I am absolutely chuffed.

Nothing we’ve bought away from eBay has been extravagant at all, and yet I look at some people’s bargains and wish that I’d done a bit more eBay based, namely invitations and maybe even my dress!

I have spent 8% of our £8500 total budget on eBay, which equates to £680

  • Hen dress (a lovely red swing dress) £16
  • 5 Bridesmaid dresses (50s style polka dot swing dresses from same seller as my hen dress) £132
  • Cake toppers (3 x Lion King character toppers, including Simba & Nala) £27
  • Memory candle (personalised in memory of my dad) £6.50
  • Map pinboard (so we can have a Guess The Honeymoon sweepstake – I don’t know where we’re going – to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of my dad) £31
  • Boleros x 2 (bought one with long sleeves for £16, but went with a capped sleeve one for £5!) £21
  • 80 x Map pins £5.35
  • Mr & Mrs Sign (personalised with our married name and wedding date) £12
  • Haircomb £6.00
  • Flowers (silk red and white roses: bride’s bouquet, 5 bridesmaid posies and top table arrangement) £104.00
  • Postbox sign (personalised with our names and wedding date) £9.00
  • Drinks sign £6.00
  • Wedpics sign (personalised) £5.00
  • Bunting (to make a garland for the balcony in our venue) £5.00
  • Let’s Eat Cake sign £12.00
  • Bridesmaids/friends presents (7 x personalised bracelets in our colours) £30.00
  • Groomsmen presents 7 x Personalised cufflinks in beautiful chrome boxes with our names and wedding date £83.94
  • Personalised chrome case for groom’s cufflinks (Having seen how beautifully the groomsmen’s cufflinks were presented, I personalised a case for my H2B’s cufflinks as well, with a message and our wedding date. £6
  • Brother of the bride present (My brother actually gets an additional present as one of the “parents” because he’s giving me away in the place of my late dad. He’ll also be singing for us at the reception so I bought him a personalised plectrum for him with the nickname I had for him as a child £5.49
  • 2 x Table runners £5.30
  • Hair band £5.99 (I won’t be using this, but no great loss!)
  • 3 x Parents presents  (We bought his parents a set of personalised wine glasses and my mum a personalised pint glass) £37
  • Camera accessories (We’re setting up one of my dad’s camera’s in the reception to honour his love of photography) £37
  • Cake maker’s gifts (We ordered our three lovely cake making friends a personalised “Star Baker” apron each) £36
  • 5 x gift bags (for the parents’ and cake maker’s presents, personalised with role, name and wedding date) £9.50
  • 50 x Cake boxes £12

I’ve had so much fun, kinda makes me want to plan an eBay wedding now!

I am making these table number holders…

I bought 150 corks and painted them gold.  Also bought the flowers and ribbon but couldn’t find the wires so had to buy that from Etsy.

Will also be doing something like this for our guestbook/display table and putting items related to our theme in them…

So I purchased a set of 3 gold stands and a set of 3 glass cloches.  The largest one broke in transit and I ended up getting a refund but I got to keep the remaining 2 cloches.

Got a set of these plume pens for our guest book…it’s actually a scroll LOL…

…Some feathers to put in the glass cloches and more ribbon and flowers to tie our invites together.
