I was wandering… What changes have any of you made to your dresses? Alterations? Dyes? Added? Subtracted? I do not have any pictures but I have changed my straps and added a different kind of lace to accent the origininal and to make it look more home made, romantic and victorian.
What have you done? Pictures?

There was a huge flower sash around the waist of my dress that I hated. I didn’t even try the sash on with the dress because it looked awful even on the model. Lol

Any excuse to show off my dress! I had some bling removed and added a sash

I’m adding a sash (which will lower the waistline), putting in waist stays, and maybe adding straps or a wrap, haven’t decided yet.

I altered the neckline slightly to make it more sweetheart, I removed the belt, and replaced the corset ribbon. The straps were already optional.

@HourThyme: Your dress is gorgeous! It reminds me of Vera Wang’s Gemma. What design(er) is that dress?

I had a completely different skirt put on it. The designer was pretty awesome about making the change.

@MrsPhilly: Thank you! It’s Vera Wang’s Kathleen from the Spring 2013 collection. Very similar to Gemma but not as severe in the mermaid style and the flare starts a little higher than Gemma

No changes yet, but I’m debating the train – cut it off or leave it.
