My heart motivates me. You only get one. Forget the dress, if you don’t take care of your heart it won’t take care of you. I don’t want me to be like my patients. They didn’t take care of themselves and abused their bodies… now they are paying. My mom only takes allergy medication at 60. I want to be like that.

@hecallsmelove:  Right on!!

My self esteem keeps me going! It’s the lack of self esteem lol. I just wanna be healthy and feel like I’ve done something for myself. I was at 213lbs about a year and  a half ago and I am now 136! Hard work and dedication paid off. The only thing I did different this time, was not Diet! I just made a lifestyle change : )

I’ve been working out and eating better since November, and what kept me motivated at first was setting reasonable goals.  I started by just working out on the weekends, and since it was such a small goal, I felt like I had no excuse not to.  I’ve gradually worked up to working out 6 days per week, and now it’s seeing the results that is keeping me motivated!

wedding photos and the 11 days in a bathing suit honeymoon are keeping my motivated. Visible results along the way also help.  Plus once I hit my first goal I am going shopping (okay I cheated and started yesterday, but the real shopping begins in 12- maybe less – pounds!)

Clothes 🙂

Seriously, several years ago I lost a lot of weight and my primary motivation was that I wanted to be able to wear cute clothes that I couldn’t before.

I want to lose another 15 piounds or so, and I’m trying to find my motivation again. It’s gotta be something different this time though. Virture? Temperence?

If the exercise equipment is not doing it for you then maybe what you need is a different form of exercise. Some dancing, group sports, or classes through your city’s parks and rec? Long walks rather than commuting to work makes a big difference to. Go all out!

Alright, so this might not be what initially motivates me, but I tend to STAY motivated to continue working out and sticking to it when I have a really set plan, such as P90X.  When I have something that tells me what to do every day (so I don’t even have to think about it) I am SO much better at keeping up with it.  As soon as I skip a day though, it gets easier to skip another one, so I have to do it 100%.
