I’ve usually been pretty happy and positive during my wedding planning adventures, maybe stressed at times but nothing more. Until today, of course, I find out some heartbreaking news just a few weeks before the wedding. I’m trying to feel better because I don’t want this to affect me as much, but music or cheesy Youtube videos aren’t really helping me.
What do you normally do to help yourself feel better when you’re down?

Whatever it is just try to stay positive. Life goes up and down but there is always something worth a smile. You just have to look for it a little deeper sometimes. Keep on searching for that.

I watch comedy routines, talk to someone who makes me laugh. Get outside and people watch. Take my dogs to the dog park and watch them play.
Just taking joy in the simple things. I’ll get some comfort food, but I try not to over do it! Since that would make me feel bad.
I’ll watch movies I love, or read a book (or reread a book.)
Things that produce endorphins help too like exercise, and sex. I stay away from any and all depressants, alcohol especially. I also try not to get too much caffeine and try to get enough sleep because if I don’t that will really take its toll.
When I am ready I will talk with someone I trust to kinda let it all out and let it go or at least start the healing process.

Chocolate ice cream!
I’m sorry you’re feeling down. I’ve defnitiely had some times like that throughout my wedding planning time.
For me what really made me feel better was just putting aside wedding stuff. Taking a day or two break from doing anything wedding related. It alwasy made me feel better to focus a little bit more on real life then this silly wedding bubble I’ve been in.

have a hot bath or long shower, have a hot drink and if it makes you feel better have a little cry. hugs.

I hope whatever it is you feel better soon. I like to go get my pedicure with a good friend maybe a little shopping with a nice lunch. Sounds weird but I like to clean when I am down.

@MusiqueEstVie: I actually calm down by cleaning and throwing stuff away. I find it theraputic . Then I sit down in a clean nice smelling house with choclate and a good book!

Go shopping, go to the movies… but if you’re REALLY sad – since you said “heartbreaking” – I would cry it out. Have a good ol’ cry, with tissues and comfort from Fiance.

I spoil myself to cheer myself up. I’m a usually pretty frugal person so when I’m really upset I like to splurge a little on myself. I either go shopping, make a spa date, or go out to a fancy restaurant. It’s a bonus if I do any of the above with a friend.

I like going to thrift stores and looking for “treasure.” Also, snuggles with my cat, and my Darling Husband. Sometimes I like repetetive physical activity to get my mind into a cadence. Like scrubbing for example, or walking aimlessly around the neighborhood.
Sometimes a nap is in order. Watching Looney Tunes helps, as does old movies from my childhood that I loved.

Bubble bath, glass of wine, chocolate. Clean bedsheets & PJ’s. I paint my nails too, which I can’t do for work so it feels like a treat 🙂

Anything that involves chocolate and peanut butter( ice cream, cake etc) And of course Fiance.

@AlwaysSunny: OMG… The Black Goat of the family…. too awesome! I know I feel better. At the expense of a goat, though, so that’s not good.
