The Amora warranty situation is widely known about, and fully acknowledged and addressed on MoissaniteCo.

It sounds like C&C and MoissaniteCo are on the same page. I don’t see any difference other than arbitrary semantics. MoissaniteCo is permitted to sell moissanite created by C&C, though C&C doesn’t formally “authorize” any retailers.

I don’t think these are issues, but it’s great that you did research.

The settings on MoCo are generally stock, so widely available,  That said, MoCo will guarantee the Amora stones themself to cover the same warranty, so I would not worry about it.

The warranty is really pointless. All it says is that if the stone ever clouds or discolors or changes optical properties it will be replaced. Moissaniteco (I believe–someone correct me if I’m wrong, I know I’ve read that before) honors the same warranty of their amora moissanite. The warranty doesn’t cover damage at all.

@SweetGlitz:  I was under the impression that all stones sold by MoissaniteCo are under the C&C warranty except for Amora. So you could still buy a ring with a Forever Brilliant moissanite or an unenhanced one all in one piece from MoCo and the C&C warranty will cover the stone. Be warned though, the C&C warranty is as sparse as they come in the first place, it only covers color changes and nothing about chipping or damage otherwise, so it may not even be worth the hassle. I would have more faith in MoCo taking responsibility for their stones or rings than C&C.

@SweetGlitz:  Glad to help 🙂

My moissanite is unenhanced, so I can’t provide pictures of either, but you should try the search bar if you haven’t yet. These boards are saturated with various enhanced moissanite pictures, and you should be able to get tons of threads by searching.

Much of this confusion boils down to C&C’s silly, but now discontinued program which they called “Authorized Moissanite Sellers”.  This created confusion because if you were not listed, does that mean you were “not-authorized”, and therefore selling illegitimate Moissanite?  You see the problem.  It should have never been called this.  I voiced my opposition from the beginning and after several years, they remade the C&C website and just removed the page (thank goodness!).

@mikec:  so the question then is, do you warranty the optical properties of amora moissanite?

@SweetGlitz:  really i think youd be fine ordering from either company. IMO people put too much stock in warranties anyway. The C&C warranty only covers brilliance and shine anyway. They basically guarantee that the stone won’t cloud that’s ittodo if that’s a concern I would say just don’t buy an Amira stobe(which isn’Ian stick currently anyway). You can however buy C&Cs forever brilliant stone from moissaniteco.com. It will come with a certification and everything.

ETA every company gets a bad review oR two. I’ve certainly seen complaints for moissyco here but check out both companies Facebook pages. C&C seem to have quite a but of complaints as well

@SweetGlitz:  Sure 🙂 I’ll post one where it looks very white and one where it’s moody so you could get an idea of how the unenhanced stone behaves

@SweetGlitz:  That’s a risk you take when you buy anything from any company, but after ordering from moissco, I would definitely do so again.They put up with my millions of questions, and the ring arrived perfectly.I’m clumsy to the point of having been repeatedly called a bull in a china shop, and the ring weathered it fine. Sh*t happens, but I don’t think it happens any more to moissy than to other stones.

I wouldn’t order from C&C. Their business practices are sketchy.
