My wedding is Chocolate brown, fuschia, and navy. My table linens are chocolate mamour, which is a rich shiny fabric. Im wondering if I need to have a fabric over lay? If so, what color? Im also wondering if you guys could help me w/ the napkin color and fabric- Im thinkind poly cotton blend (the normal napkin fabric) may not go? Im on a big budget so dont want to go big on excess- Thanks!

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of fabric overlays. Our dinner tables will actually just be covered in cotton, but we’re splurging on shiny orange fabric covering our cocktail highs and lows. I agree that in your case, a regular napkin might not work well. Good luck with your decision!

I love dark tablecloths! Everything on them really pops–I wouldn’t do an overlay. You could do almost anything with the napkins: white or fuschia or even more brown. It could be gorgeous.

If I am imagining it right … you have a table cloth similar to mine … it’s shiny too but antique soft white … we LOVED a silk shantung napkin in the same shade.
I agree with Bruschetta… I don’t like overlays!
