Fi and I don’t usually exchange gifts for v-day except maybe flowers and lingerie. But this year, I wanted to get him something special: a pen engraved with, “Guardian of peace and justice” because he is a police officer and always needs a blue pen, plus he loves star wars (when obi-wan gives Luke his father’s light saber, he tells him that jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the old republic).
What are you planning on for v-day? Anything from a gesture to a physical gift counts!

@gingerkitten: that sounds like a great gift! i’m getting my SO socks…and not cute ones lol. in my defense, he refuses to buy things for himself and he hasnt replaced his socks in 3 years. it was time lol.
i also got him some cliff bars and protein powder for his workouts 🙂

@gingerkitten: We’re going on an adventure downtown Toronto; lots of walking and talking, and then some dinner!

Three sets of the miniature ships he paints for his nerd games, a funny book, a “Disappearing Dinosaur” coffee mug (dinosaurs are a symbol of our love because we’re goofy like that) and I am making little bunnies out of Hershey’s Kisses to go with the Hershey’s Kiss Gnomes I made him last year.

@gingerkitten: That’s actually a super cute idea!
We’re not exchanging gifts I don’t think. We’re celebrating on the 22nd probably, as we’re apart on Valentine’s. I move to his country on the 20th, so we’ll celebrate after that. Maybe our gift will be opening me a bank account and doing lots of paperwork on Saturday? Ha!

Probably not exchanging gifts. I bought us tons of candy, though, and a gigantic hershey kiss.

We aren’t exchanging anything, with the wedding planning and all. Plus, candy, teddy bears and all that other “valentines day” stuff is a waste of money.
Fi always gets me flowers though.
We’ll be going out and having a nice dinner, movie and then cuddling later at home. We might even go to dave & busters [our fav place!]

@gingerkitten: That is super sweet! I love your idea for your husband!
Me and my SO have our anniversary at the end of Feb. So we do a light valentines. I got him a French bulldog stuffed animal, as we own one and its his favorite dog breed. And I got a recipe for red velvet cookies that I will put into heart shapes. That’s it though, I prefer more money/energy go to anniversaries since they have more meaning for us.

My SO and I are going to dinner in the city, and this is big since he never goes into the city! Our anniversary is the following week and we thought he was going to be out of town so we’re exchanging our gifts Friday (and now that we know the dates were off I can’t wait an additional week to give him his gifts 😉 I got him some hunting stuff, scent free soaps, shampoo, scent wafers, ect. It should make him laugh 😉 I also wrote him two poems which I will decoupage onto a wood piece with a picture of us above and below, they will hang by ribbon.
I hope all you ladies have a wonderful Valentines Day with your SOs!

@gingerkitten: I am giving him a Roots wallet, and he is taking me out for sushi. I think he got me a couple things too but I have no idea what.

@gingerkitten: Well, Valentine’s Day also happens to be my Darling Husband birthday so I am getting him two gifts. One is some new lingerie for me to wear on V-Day and for his birthday I may get him a tablet, but debating on which one to get right now.

I’m giving my gamer matching hoodies for us that say ‘player 1’ and ‘player 2’. I’m even letting him be player 1
ETA: I’m also making him a mini chocolate raspberry cheesecake

We are going out for a fancy dinner (Big deal for us since we are poor college students). We usually exchange cards with a letter tucked inside, but that’s it.

I sent Fiance a Harry and David snack tower to his work. I figured he can share the treats with his coworkers and we can share at home too. We don’t usually do much but I like to always acknowledge the day. Last year was terrible because Fiance lost his job on the 13th and my uncle passed away on the 14th. Fiance hadn’t done anything because he’s always a last minute kind of guy…so I got a whole lot of nothing. Lets hope he does better this year!

Since FI’s officially become “That guy with the tie” at work, I think I might make him a couple new ones. He’s in charge of making plans, so I don’t know what we’re doing yet. I’m excited to find out, though.
