smoocherific:  wear what you want . If it’s a big deal maybe  you should get a detachable skirt And have both.

I picked out a shape that I’m not sure my Fiance will like either. It’s a fit and flare but I love it and I think he will too. You should go for what you want. I think when it comes to the big day it he will be thrilled with whatever you pick. Plus most brides find that dress that just seems perfect and if that’s what you want I say get it

smoocherific:  I know exactly what you mean but I think he will love it anyway! Hear me out – I was worried about what my now-husband would think of my dress, which was a body-hugging fit and flare Romona Keveza. I would look at bridal magazines with him and just literally ask what he thought about every dress on every page so that I wasn’t giving anything away. He kept saying how he doesn’t like any of the tighter dresses and the poofier ones are nice. Personally, wearing a poofy dress wasn’t happening for me. Long story short, the day of the wedding he LOVED the dress. I know he actually did because even on the honeymoon he kept saying how much he loved my dress. Truth is – until he sees YOU in it, he can’t really make that statement. He is going to love what you look like and honestly, you should be wearing what you love anyawy. He’s not marrying you because of your dress! Hope this helps

My Fiance said the same thing after he ended up watching Say Yes to the Dress with me. Apparently he HATES lace and ball gowns, which is funny because I originally wanted a full ball gown until I saw how it made me look like a cupcake, haha. I ended up with a fit and flare that I’m putting a crinoline under to give it the volumunious look of a ball gown that I love, without being too overdone. Maybe that’s his fear, that he it will be so poofy that no one will be able to get near you while you’re in it, including him.

If my parnter’s feelings about what I wanted to wear were that strong and were diametrically opposed to what I wanted to wear I wouldn’t marry him!  Respect me, respect my fashion choices! Any man who dictates what his bride should wear deserves to be an eternal bachelor!
