I’m going in for my second fitting/alterations appointment next week, and I still haven’t got down to my goal for looking slimmer for my May 26th wedding. Just worried that I will lose more weight (around 5-10lbs.) after my fitting and risk my dress not fitting properly because I’m borderline between two dress sizes. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice, or is losing that amount of weight not that big a deal? I have no idea if they can usually make alterations even closer to the wedding date if needed?
Second, has anyone used a Spanx-like product to minimize their muffin top area with success? This is my problem area I’m trying to shed the weight from (hips to bellybutton lol).

I’m still a month away from my first fitting, but I’ve looked into smoothing options and I like the Squeam waist cincher. I’m built like a ruler with no natural waist, and it gives me one. The Spanx I looked at all included a panty, and I can’t imagine trying to pull those up and down when I go to the bathroom. I’d have to take the dress off first. The squeam goes from under the bra line to the hips, so if you have a low back dress, it won’t work. I got mine on Amazon. I was unsure of sizes, but they have a free return policy so I bought 2 and kept the one that worked best. Reviews mention wearing it to help lose wieght, but I haven’t had that experience.
I’ve also been trying to lose weight. All my crazy exercise regimen did is make me gain 2 pounds. I saw too many informercials and during an ad for Shaun T.’s Hip Hop Abs, there was mention of a 6 day slimdown plan. I didn’t buy it, but I googled the plan and followed it, while keeping up with my regular workouts. I was amazed how quickly it came off. I lost almost 5 pounds in a week. This after months and months of exercise with only a 2 pound GAIN. I’ve got about 5 more that would be nice (though I’m already seeing muscle definition and am back in my favorite jeans), and am confident I can lose those this month. The plan is basically 3 meals plus 2 snacks (so you won’t be hungry), and no grains. So no bread, pasta, rice, etc. But lots of veggies and fruit and lean meats. I’m done with the 6 days, but am keeping up with much of the philosophy.
