@ risingsun — this is why I am mostly humored by it! Especially since this girl isn’t the nicest to me, I’m kind of like “karma.” haha. I am like 20% irritated and 80% humored by it. It will definitely be a good story for the grandkids.
I think that there may be similar proposals at the same location. It would be fun to swap stories with someone who happened to propose at the same place. But, isn’t it always kind of frustrating to have someone copy you, especially when you’re still on the “engagement high”?

@OneDayMrsW I can see what you mean. Even though I knew it was stupid, I felt a little secretly bummed when I was waiting and everyone was getting engaged before me, and then when another gal got engaged after me. It felt like it made mine less special, even though I knew that was a ridiculous thing to think. I guess the key is to not dwell on it.

Not sure how good of a story that makes…”Hey, back when we got engaged, less than a month later a couple we sort of knew got engaged the same way. He totally stole the idea from us. No, they weren’t our close friends. Yes, it was an outdoor, public place. But people saw on facebook! What do you mean, what’s facebook?” Haha. So yeah, sorry, but I agree with your friend.

Obviously, its very flattering for someone else to want their proposal to be just like mine. ….. HOWEVER, it does kind of bother me. Like someone took away our “special place.”
you got married on a nature trail near a river – im guessing you were not the first and obviously not the last either

i can see how that would be frustrating, but it’s not like he to his gf/fi to the same restaurant, did the same activity, bought the same ring, etc.
Sounds like my (and many others) proposal, outdoors, sweet and simple.
