it depends how much the small amount you would be able to tip is. alternatively, you can always mail the tip later once you have the money.

I was hoping it wasn’t necessary to tip vendors. I mean, I paid them for their work! The parents of my kids don’t tip me!!! But I think they should. lol

Umm we didnt tip anyone except for my hair stylist and MUA. My parents and ILs set up the reception and ceremony space. DJ did not deserve a tip. Cake people did not deserve a tip. Already paid the florist a buttload. Already paid the photographers a lot too. I dont see why I would tip…

@PitBulLover: yeah, this is so bizarre to me. wedding prices are so inflated as it is, and wedding vendors all add in “service charges” or “gratuity” anyways.

@Auds424: Who do you think you need to tip? I think we would be able to tell you who doesn’t really need a tip. You don’t have to tip anyone who owns their own business.

If you can’t afford to tip, i think the next best thing (or even better) is to make sure to leave great reviews if they in fact did a great job.

Obviously, you’ll want to figure out which vendors are supposed to be tipped.  For those vendors, though, you really should consider the tip part of the price, so long as they give good service.  If you can’t afford the tip, you need to find a less expensive vendor.

Does anyone know if a “Service Charge” is the same thing as a tip?

@jo.lee:

That sounds a lot like gratuity to me, which is a tip, so I’d say probably so.
