Honestly, I havent thought about it for MY photographer.  She is just starting up, she was working with another well known one in our town.  Shes MUCH cheaper than the other one…and I assume because shes building a portfolio. So I am positive we will be on he FB page.  Shes really excited to do our wedding!

But I have thought about it for other well known photographers, and thought there is no way everyone gets to go on. So how do they pic, maybe they have to pay more lol or maybe the photographer hired models! I totally get it though, Id be insulted if I wasnt picked.  Id probably cry even…just a little bit ๐Ÿ™‚

Our photographer doesn’t seem to blog much, she used to but it looks like she might be getting too busy and doesn’t update it very often. So i’m not counting on being blogged, it will be a nice surpise if she does!

I don’t think photographers are obligated to blog every wedding.  They blog the types of weddings that they hope to shoot.  You can always submit your wedding to myriad of other wedding blogs.

I did and I got really upset about it. In the end, he wrote an incredibly nice blog post about us and apparently part of the reason he hadn’t blogged me was because I was so active on forums that he was a little worried about it.

Here’s the thing, a photographers blog is all about marketing. In fact, it’s their most powerful marketing tool in terms of google searches. Google is one of the main reasons photographers starting blogging to begin with, because the SEO is way better than a traditional flash website.

That being said, we kind of live by the “show what you shoot” theory. Photographers love creative stuff. It’s like a workshop I went to, and the photographer hosting was asked how they always get such nicely dressed and well put together families. Their response was that they aren’t immune to the “jeans and white shirt” clients, they just choose not to blog/display those, because it’s not the kind of client they want to attract. Does it mean they’ll turn away a client who shows up to their session dressed like that? No. It just means that their style of photography is more suited to clients who take the clothing reccomendtations into consideratio (colors that compliment the location, layers, textures, etc).

Don’t take it personally if you don’t get blogged. Aside from the above reason, sometimes we just get super busy!

Agreed Starfish.

I had no idea people got so upset they weren’t blogged till I started reading the wedding forums. I cant believe the threads started and how mad some get.. I think its a bit whiney when they come to the board to complain about it..They love their photos but start a whole thread to complain they didnt go on the blog.. Really? A blog post? Enjoy your photos and new life! ๐Ÿ˜€

Its just business and none of them should get offended nor are we Required to blog anyone. Nor should we have to explain to anyone why they didnt get blogged, we run our business how we see fit. ๐Ÿ™‚

I dont blog based on what one looks like at all nor what thier wedding looked like. If I dont blog it you bet at least one of the photos made to my gallery. ๐Ÿ™‚
