hey bees. so from jump, i knew that i wanted extensions plus relaxed texture hair. the thing is, the cost ranges from 145 for 10 inches to 285 for 20. my dilemma is, how much should i buy, and in what lengths? each weft is 2oz, but the hair is very…bulky, to say the least, and of course 2oz on a 10 inch weft is much thicker than on a 20. my own hair, at its longest point in the front, is about 7 inches long. i was going to leave out the perimeter and part of the top. my idea was to get a pack of 20 inch for the bottom, 14 for the middle, and 10 for the top, as im going to want the hair layered and razored anyway, i figured why pay so much for 3 packs of 20 inch? or should i just bite the bullet for 3 packs of 20? help me please lol. heres a pic of the wedding stule im going for.

How long is your hair? you can get clip in hair extensions that arent so expensive as sew-ins and you can experiement with those

I say bite the bullet — it’s too high stakes to mess up the measurements for your wedding… besides, what if you decide to change your mind on the hair… it gives you more flxibility to have the 20 in if you’ve never put this exact weave in before.

@bells, around 7 inches at its longest point. it would be similarily priced for clipins. the issue isnt the installation of the hair, its the texture. most affordable clipins dont match african textured hair at all. in fact the sole reason this hair is so expensive is the fact that its one of maybe 3 types that is a plausible match for black hair. comparing that to the literally thousands of hair brands which match straighter hair, it makes sense the hair is priced as such. here are some pictures of 2oz bundles of 18inch hair, to picture the hair.

The style that I’m going to do for my wedding is similar. My hair is pretty long and I ended up buying one pack of cheap beauty supply hair to do the hair trail. What I had to realize that we you do these half up, half down hair styles is that you need to leave your hair on top out. That way the crown portion doesn’t show your tracks. I ended up with 3 tracks installed of 16″ hair. It only gave me about 1″ longer than my own hair.
With that said a usually full head weave takes about 8oz of hair. You may not need 6oz of hair if you are going to leave the crown portion of your hair out. Also it usually better to do a 20″, 18 or 16″, & 14″. That way you don’t end up with the top really short with the 10″ on top. Or like me with only an inch below your natural hair. You just have to hope your stylest can cut a weave and make it look believable when you don’t have such a difference in track length.

That hairstyle is beautiful good luck!

Wow. I know nothing about this. I never did weave before, but I think I need it for my wedding. My Fiance is like, no way can I have a wig or weave, but my hair falls even when people are whispering in a room. I do not know why, but it just does. And I know I’ll sweat it out, so I don’t even want a little bit of my hair out. Unless I friggn saturate it in setting lotion, gel, or something, it just falls.

For my wedding I had a lace closure piece so I did not have to leave any hair out. I chose a hairstyle that would help me pull it off though.
I bought 4oz of 16″ hair and 6 oz of 20″ hair I had some hair left over. Inbox me if you want to know where I got it from. I dont want to publicize any companies, I know the moderators dont like that too much lol!
Here’s a pic of what I wanted (at the top) and how it turned out, I’m still waiting on better pictures, lol (bottom)

Oh and 2 oz bundles are REALLY small and make it way more expensive. Try to find somewhere with 4oz bundles. Also Brazillian type hair is thicker and blends really well with our hair. My cousin is natural and leaves her natural hair out with her weaves and when she flat irons and uses her products it looks flawless

thank you for the suggestions. i really want to stick with this company for the hair tho because with the hair being relaced 4b texture, i dont have to really worry about having to press it and use product to blend, it looks and behaves kist like my hair does. and the wefts are smaller because the hair on the weft is bulkier, if that make sense. a full 8oz head of eprt would have me lookin like chaka khan back in the day lol @HisWifey2012:
