@Scintillante:  I love how your band hugs your ering! Your set is gorgeous.

I like this thread topic, it’s fun to see inspiration vs final product.

The first two pics are my ring, the last two are my inspiration pics.

I don’t have photos of my inspiration pic anymore, but it was inspired by a ring I saw at Birks. We checked it out and it was GORGEOUS, and we could have bought it within our budget easily. We took the photo to a custom jeweler, he was able to make a very similar ring for the same price but with a much larger diamond than what we could have bought at Birks. The ring isn’t the exact same, but it’s close enough. All I really wanted in my ring was the sapphire detail. I actually like mine better because it has sapphires on both sides while the Birks ring only had sapphires on one side!

I have always been a classic, simple kind of girl, very traditional, so a solitaire diamond engagement ring in yellow gold was what I wanted, and I have always wanted a ring from Tiffany & Co. I love the little blue box! So Fiance and I went in to make sure the Tiffany Setting was what I wanted, and I tried it on, and it was everything I dreamed of and more. Fiance bought it (the one I tried on was the perfect size so he got that one) a few weeks later!

And for my wedding band I have always wanted a plain yellow gold band. Fiance and I went to a couple of jewellers one day trying on wedding bands, then we went to Tiffany’s. I tried on the Tiffany Lucida band in yellow gold, and it just suited my e-ring so perfectly I think I will get that one when it comes time to buy the wedding bands!

I had mine designed after the Harry Winston micropave cushion halo. The real Harry Winston in the first photo and the next 2 are mine. I love it!

Lol okay, longest pic post ever!! Lol my inspiration was a combination of all the rings above, the last pic is the end result. Top ring belongs to a fellow Bee, the second pic was my original ering, then a ring from Shane Co that I loved and then the other is a CAD from a seller off of etsy.

I dont have my ring yet, its currently being made/shipped…but I got it based on price (Def dont feel comfortable at making my SO pay more than $2000 for a ring) and colour, its feminine, light, and my boyfriend picked it as one of his top fave, and then told me to pick from it so I appreciate how much he loves it

I had a Purity ring that really loved, so I wanted a wedding band like it. When we went shopping, I found one that was very similar! It only has square diamonds instead of rounded ones. Strangely enough, I lost my ring about two weeks before the proposal, which was ok, since I knew it would be replaced soon with my engagement ring. ๐Ÿ™‚

My inspiration:

Pinksunshine’s Schubach ring with an amazing fleur de lis undergallery + my first e-ring that was a double halo, but didn’t quite work out

I combined the double halo split shank ring with the fleur de lis undergallery, but switched the center stone from a cushion to an OEC and had the profile lowered a bit. Also added claw prongs

I get my ring today! Here’s the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVPUw6ORt6c&feature=c4-overview&list=UU03iUIX42NeoJYUzlvExYEA

And here’s a quick reference pic (can’t wait to get it eeep!, I’ll add more pics later):
