(Closed) What is a bad waiting day like for you?

    I cry and SO knows.

I cry and SO doesn't know.

I hold it in as best I can.

I try to hold it in, but SO knows something is up and we talk.

I straight up tell SO I'm having a bad waiting day and we talk rationally.

I freak out - crying, getting mad at SO, wondering how much longer I can wait.

It lasts for 5 minutes and I'm fine the rest of the day.

I try and hold it in. But sometimes (and only sometimes) I have mini-meltdowns. Not necessarily crying, but more like complaining to SO and making snarky comments about how long we’ve been together and I still have to call him my boyfriend like we’re in high school or something. If I’m able to hold it in I’m just in a crap mood but won’t take it out on him.

I can hold it in ..for about 5 minutes. I have had 2 small meltdowns on my SO in the past 2 months. Since my last episode (last week), I feel a lot better about things and feel like I can be more straight forward with my SO without going into meltdown mode.

My last bad waiting say was about 3 weeks ago. I was certain I needed to get off the bee because i thought he wasnt ready or having doubts about wanting to MARRY me or about making me his wife. I was certain he hadn’t been saving and certain he hasn’t even looked at rings or given it any though.

I was fine the whole day and then one crappy commute home put me in a bad funk. So what do I FEEL like when I have a bad waiting day? Well I stare at him alot. I stare at him and ask myself the following questions:

    • what, if anything will change if we were to become enageged? We already live together so not much.
    • what will get better/worse?
    • WHY do I want to spend forever with this man?

Sure enough, and hour later he tells me he think he found something I would like! I was amazed.

That was my last waiting day. Yesterday was a Good Waiting day…where he played with the fingers on my left hand.

A bad waiting day for me ends in a complete freak out complete with me crying, my SO telling me that everything will be ok, and me wondering if I’m enough for him. The problem is, I hold things in, because I figure it’ll come sooner rather than later. But when nothing happens for awhile and I keep having semi bad days, it all builds up and comes out all at once. My last bad day was actually a few months ago when my SO gave me a definite timeline of the end of the year. Now I have that to keep me sane.

At this point every day is a bad waiting day! And i toggle back and forth between every option on the poll so i didn’t vote. 😉

I’m quite lucky – my version of a bad waiting day lasts for a minute or so and involves me screaming in my head “BUT I WANT IT NOW!!!!”  Then I remember my dissertation research and start panicking about that. I swear, without university to focus on and keep me busy, I’d probably be more impatient.
