just because you love your children doesn’t mean I have to

If I tell you that I don’t want to have children I am not asking for your opinion on what I am missing out on and why I should have children

@fishbone:  I agree with you and I believe that women have a more, shall we say, ‘versatile’ sexuality than men. I read a fascinating article about female vs male sexuality. It discussed a study in which men and women, straight and gay, had sensors attached to their ‘parts’ and then were shown videos of straight porn, gay porn and apes having sex. The straight men in the study were arroused only by the straight porn. The gay men were arroused by the gay porn and somewhat by the straight porn. The WOMEN, however, were arroused by all 3 videos! Sensors don’t lie ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wish I could provide a link to the study but I can’t seem to find it.

I believe that people should stand a minimum of 5 feet away from the luggage carousel until their bags are within reach, and THEN they can walk up and grab them with ample room to maneuvre. It is a huge pet peeve of mine that people consistently hover around the carousel when there isn’t room for everyone to do so. If you stand back, you increase the circumference of the circle so everyone can see and access their bags at the appropriate time.

Please spread the word.

I thought of a good one.

I don’t believe that all men watch porn. I believe that there is a sizeable number of men who avoid it. And I believe that even though many women believe that they are being fair by allowing/expecting their men to watch porn, we are doing them a tremendous disservice.

We complain that men see us as sex objects, and yet we as a society tell our boys, “Because you are male, it’s okay to be a mindless horndog” or even, “Because you are male, you are a mindless horndog.” What do you suppose that does to them, their hormone levels, and their stereotypes about women and sex? In my work with pornography addicts, I’m told that pornographic women are almost invariably submissive and will do whatever the man suggests. That’s what they’re learning. It’s this neverending circle.

It’s especially interesting to me that often, the women that are encouraging their men to watch porn are the same women that complain about equal rights and feminism.

Just something to think about.

I believe that people with cat allergies are lying! Cats make everything better. You couldn’t possibly be allergic to a cat.

I think flu shots are a sham.  It’s introducing the virus to your system, in order to hopefully build an immunity to that particular strain.  Most people who get the flu shot end up sick immediately.  It makes me crazy that folks pay for this.  I havn’t had the flu in at least fifteen years!

I read through page 9, but I just couldn’t read everything! Here’s what I agree with from the PPs – stereotyping is generally correct (I started believing this when I moved to NYC), and animals are not equal to people (and I can’t believe that even has to be stated!).

I also think that people should have chips like animals do. If I lose my cat, she can be scanned, and my contact info will come up on the computer. I can’t believe that we have this technology, and yet it’s not utilized for people’s medical records! I understand that it would have too many risks of getting into the wrong hands, but if someone has an emergency, I think the ER should be able to access their medical history immediately.

Sooooo many things. I put even people on the far left to shame (in America anyway…). I am:

  • Vegan (non-human animals definitly ARE equal to people! We don’t kill children or the mentally handicapped just because of some subjective measure of thier competance)
  • Marxist
  • Rad-fem (I never shave my legs or armpits either. The horror!)
  • Non-monagamous
  • Pantheist
  • Complete pacifist

And the list goes on. The funny thing is, I work in an extremely conservative field (law) in an extremely conservative state, so if you met me on the street you would never guess. That, and I have learned to pick my battles. Some people are just not open to changing their perspectives, and after many frustrating years I have accepted that it is not my problem!

@Pokemon:  That C-sections are a million times better than natural childbirth, and I am specifically getting one when I have children so I do not have to deal with natural childbirth.
