@Regina Phalange:  Yeah, I’m extremely pro-vaccine, I get pretty much every vaccine available to me. I just see it as strengthening my immune system, and any alleged “side effects” are way less scary than those of antibiotics/antivirals if you contract whatever disease! Like you, the worst immediate side effect I’ve had from any vaccine is a sore arm.

I’m so glad i found this thread. i love it! and I’m sure i’ll kee coming back to it but here’s what I’ve been thinking about lately…

i think that too many people feel that it is their absolute right to raise their child (or give birth to their child) any way they please. OF COURSE for the majority of sane, good people in the world, you are absolutely entitled to your opinions. But there are so many situations (mostly to do with  health and education) where there are people who are more experienced and knowledgable in that area than the average parent, and these people need to be listened to. i dont have kids. when i do have a baby, i want it to be in a hospital surrounded by lots of people who have SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. because i have no idea what I’m doing, so i want all the help i can get. if an overwhelming majority of the medical community says i should vaccinate my kids, I’m doing it, because these people know more than me about the subject. if a kid is struggling at school, talk to other educators about what they think could help. dont go to the kid’s teacher and tell them they dont understand your kid. teachers spend all day with your kid, and they have a degree in understanding kids. yeah, not all teachers are amazing, but most of them at least know what they’re doing. i could go on and on (i kind of already have, sorry).

another thing thats kind of related, is i think kids should be registered with schools and state health systems. my parents have taught primary school in many small towns for 30 years, and they have some sad stories. it is far too easy for parents to neglect and abuse their own children, and just leave town as soon as someone suspects something. once they’re gone, it’s very hard to find out what ever happened to the child and if they’re ok.

on a lighter note, i believe that pineapples dont belong on pizza… or anywhere, for that matter.

I haven’t read the whole thread, but I believe people should get tickets for not signaling. Everyone should all the time. It gets in my nerves when people don’t drive appropriately.

Salary should correspond to how much living costs. Minimum wage is a joke!

Prisoners should pay their sentence working and working hard rather than taking the money away from those who work.

I think cigarettes should be made illegal. It’s a disgusting habit!

@MissMfutureMrsB:  I agree about the animal and human equality. I could never kill one…that must be terrible. They deserve our respect as they have feelings as well.

I think anyone who claims to be a vegetarian and still eats fish is living a lie. Fish have faces. Vegetarians shouldn’t be eating anything with a face.

It also irks me when I see people on benefits wandering around town in their pajama’s, grasping an iphone in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other. Seriously? I can’t even afford the luxury of an iphone and to be drinking in my pj’s every bloody day. Why should you be able to do that with my money!?
