Such a wedding newbie. But my mom’s good friend just offered to throw me a bridal luncheon closer to the wedding date , which was super sweet of her so I thanked her and said that sounded wonderful. But what exactly IS a bridal luncheon? Is it like a shower? Or is it just a lunch? Is it for just the wedding party? Haha any insight would be great.

I consider a bridal luncheon a time for you to invite all your bridesmaid out for lunch so everyone can meet prior to the day. I may be wrong but that’s what I did and I called it a bridal luncheon.

In my experience it is a luncheon for the bridal party to thank them for being a part of the bride’s day. Sometimes the bride will give the bridal party gifts at the luncheon but it really just depends on how close it is to your wedding, if you have gifts for them, etc.

as mentioned above it can be a lunch with your bridal party (and if you want, any other ladies who are part of the wedding/planning like your mom, mother in law, etc). but i’ve also heard of them being like a bridal shower, but without gifts.
