pretty much, yep!  gives the bride and groom some alone time before the rest of he day starts, and allows more time for photos…if you dont mind seeing eachother before the ceremony.  Sometimes the bride stands and lets the groom come to her, but more often the bride approaches the groom.  We did one – highly recommend it!

yeah, it gives you some alone time, which trust me, there is NONE OF on your wedding day.  Serious lol, the only alone time we had that day was when we woke up and had breakfast, then the first look (we didnt allow family or Bridal Party to be around for it) so it was well worth it.  And we got AMAZING photos

It isn’t always the bride sneaking up on the groom.  Pretty much any way that you two get to see eachother before the ceremony is the first look!  It is great, it gives you time to be alone together without everyone staring at you and you won’t get any other time alone for the rest of the day!

as a photographer i LOVE the “first look”

It gives us an opportunity to get both reactions in the same photo. Sometimes they peak around the door or a tree at each other.

It also gives us much more time before the ceremony to take photos instead of being rushed after the ceremony.

I saw my husband with a first look before we got married and it really helped calm my nerves. But I still cried like a baby when I said my vows 🙂
