Mine was $2000 flat. She drove from KY to FL. Usually the package would be $3600, but we negotiated…I only had one photog, not the usual two, and our ceremony was followed by a dinner, not a long reception. But I get a disk, I think a book, and a few prints. I should probably review my contract on that.

That sounds reasonable. We paid $2500 for a full day of shooting and all photos, full size on disk with print rights (and online for free download full size), and there was no traveling involved.

That sounds incredibly reasonable. Most pro photographers who do destination weddings charge their full fee (anywhere from $2,000 and up) PLUS the cost of travel. This sounds really low if it includes travel.

@SimpleGifts:  They have only been in business for a couple of years, and her husband actually has another full time job that he couldn’t get time away. And she gave me what she called “the pal discount” since we had a mutual friend. She was cheaper than all the photographers in our wedding area, and I prefer her work over all of them! I was going to call the whole thing off if she couldn’t make it. No joke.

edit-where are you located? Maybe she’s available!!

that sounds good to me.  i know my photog’s regular fees for a Destination Wedding were $2500 plus travel costs.  She gave me a deal as she was already booked for another wedding in my location the next day, so i never actually had to pay her travel fees and she reduced her rate for me.  But i am pretty sure the other bride paid her travel fees plus the $2500.  so probably around $4000 total or just under as she didn’t stay a full week.

We are super lucky and our Destination Wedding photog in Myrtle Beach is $1700. We get a digital release, some prints and a book. I think his work was stunning AND he happened to be less than most of whom we looked at. It was $1400 but I didn’t put a deposit down in time and his prices went up because of some new equipment purchases. (it was my fault for not booking on time). But either way I am still ok with the price.

Its really going to depend on the photographer.. I do weddings and if a couple was having a wedding at a destination thats fab I drop my rates a bit and have the couple pay for travel. Mainly just airfare and maybe car rental if I need to get around for their wedding. Hotel and car rentals are Really cheap if you go through priceline and the like. I dont need a 5 star just clean and close to the venue. Ive stayed a 5 stars for less than $80 a night with priceline though. πŸ˜€  I work it out so its cost effective for the couple and I.

Im from cold upstate NY, you’re having a Destination Wedding in Miami in January… I’ll drop my rate to to get out of the snow. πŸ˜€ I would give my off season/weekday rate.

Also pretty much any photographer you can customize a package or as some would say negotiate. Just be reasonable and fair. πŸ™‚ Packages are more like guidelines..
