@redband:  When I think of “typical” or “stereotypical” wedding food, I think of:

Salad course (usually Caesar) or a grilled veggie tower

Main of either chicken w/ potatoes and veggie or beef with the same sides.

Usually the food suffers from mass production and the chicken is rubbery, the beef is overcooked, and the veggies/potatoes are cold.

Having said that, I’ve never been to a wedding like that, but when I think of the “typical wedding food” that’s what pops into my head.

I would expect that there’s always a chicken option, possibly a beef option, and usually a fish/pasta/veggie option.  The sides are often veggies & potatoes…..oh, and there’s a salad before and a dessert after.

We did a seated meal and everyone got the same thing—caeser salad, main course was filet mignon and crabcake with twice baked potato and seasonal veggies. There were passed hor deourves, wedding cake, candy bar, and petite desserts as well.
