    Something under .50 could be considered large

    I’m in Pittsburgh, Pa and around here the size can vary greatly! Just depends on what area of the city you’re from. I’ve seen rings bigger than 3 carats. My best friends ring is a .5 solitaire, my dad’s fiance’s is a 2 carat halo. My ring will be a 1.5 ct equivalent moissanite solitaire with moissanites along the shank. My grandmother’s engagement rings was a .20 solitaire with little idamond chips on the sides. It’s all over the place here.

    @wrkbrk:  People are much more into bling these days. Consequently erings are bigger now on average than they were in the 80s and 90s.

    I voted for 2ct+ because living in Los Angeles, that isn’t unusual.  However, for myself and my circle of friends, I am blessed to have my gorgeous 0.91ct. 🙂  Most important of all, it came from my wonderful FI!
