I would think drinks and appetizer-type food.

I think the level or “fanciness” ought to “match” for the drinks and food. (Eg, if you’re having a fully-stocked bar, then you ought to have a variety of some “nicer” snacks, but if you’re just having beer and wine, then I would think some simple cheese and veggies and crackers would work.)

Our cocktail hour (for 37 people) inclused 3 passed appetizers and whatever passed alcohol we choose to have. I’m currently thinking that there needs to be some bubbly, I know Mr. LK will expect a beer or two on the list, and we may have a cocktail to round out the offerings. I don’t want too many choices because that would involve more servers in our small-ish space.

Mine includes about 3-4 different appetizers and 2 drinks per person.

I’m interesting in knowing this too!! I have about 200 people and will have only 4 passed appetizers. I wonder if that’s enough?

Well 4 passed apps is enough. The caterers just make A LOT of those 4 instead of just a few of 10 apps. There will always be enough  food.
